I know I may be the only one but looking for masks looses the appeal for me after a few have been captured. If I find one when going from point A to point B then I will deviate a bit to get, otherwise, this become a tedious task at best... again for me, don't you go getting your panties in a buch people (you know who you are!) When I play a shooter game, I want to shoot my weapon more than collect flowers, kill annoying man-eating-eagles, loot money or deal with childish quests like taking down posters.
To the point that, yeah, I'm there to shoot (or knife ...), why go out of your way wasting time searching for something.
Where the posters, masks, letters come into play in my book is early on in the game. I want the XP. I don't start the game by doing the main story missions whatsoever. Golden Path, who are they? I'll get back to Amita and Sabal in my own good time ...
Now, if the XP points were not so generous, then part of the game play would be increased towards collecting to further the goal of gaining XP.
The easy way to do the collection process to get 100% is to buy the "items" maps, you dont need the loot chest maps, sorry thats the fC3 term, in FC4 its a separate map for "masks" and "items" (which are the letters, posters and mani wheels (and I would buy the Items maps also) Once you buy all the "masks" and "items" maps you open the main map and zoom in and the little blue indicators will appear for the posters, mani wheels, letters, and masks and Thanka painting sections for Shangri La. If you get on the heli copter Buzzer and fly around you can quickly collect everything. When you get down to only a few left they can be hard to find, so I start by zooming in untill I see them and then zoom back out untill the disappear and back off a bit till they show again. Then start off at the bottom of the map and go across all the land mass until you find one, then highlight it as a destination and go get it. Rinse and repeat untill you have them all.Originally Posted by Butcherbird59 Go to original post
Well, I chase masks/letters to see more locations and sometimes it's a challenge to reach the location - I even met Amita unexpectedly at Tihra (or so) when she was arresting some villagers. She certainly is a pretty wicked personality.
Yes, fortunately masks have their own maps hence no need to buy it all like in FC3
Okay, all 55 masks done, only 2 were tricky to reach

Now why would you post "I know I may be the only one but looking for masks looses the appeal for me after a few have been captured." when you admitted you don't even own the game?
Look, if you want to participate so badly here, maybe we can take up a collection for you so you don't actually have to lie to try and fit in.
We can find a neutral party to hold the funds, I'm in for 50˘
Is it so hard to understand for some, that "NOT wanting to get rape by UBI so I don't have the game" does not translate into "I HAVE NEVER PLAYED THE GAME"???
You may want to come off as a badass but you are just a simple and vindictive Asshat... read the many post where I have said that my friend has the game, I have tweaked it so he can play it and I have played it as well.
I will repeat myself at the risk of being redundant in the hopes that many of you UBI fanbois understand... NOT finishing the game 25 times (like perhaps you have) does not mean that one does not know how badly coded and un-finished the game is and/or that I can not have an opinion on the game. It does not take many hours to understand that the whole game will be pretty much RINSE & REPEAT... aside from some missions that are different.
You are more than welcome not to participate here if you want, seeing as how much fun you are having with the game. Throwing your money away does not a smart person makes. Good Luck.
