    Horrible, HORRIBLE lag.

    Hello.

I recently downloaded fc4 on another account, to play. I of course assumed it would run fine, I can run fc3 at ultra, Skyrim.. etc etc...

So, I loaded it up, and changed my settings to medium.
Start the game, get past the cutscene... lag.
literally 10 fps. at low settings: 15
lowest res + low settings - 15 still

    specs:
    GTX 850M
    4710MQ quad-core @ 2.50 GHZ

    any ideas why?

So your problem is the low FPS and not the lag? They are totally different things.

What resolution are you using? It should run ok with low settings and low resolution. Have you updated the game (1.9.0) and GPU drivers?

Your graphics card is about mid-range, and wasn't it designed for laptops? How much RAM you got? 4GB is the minimal spec for this game. I say best splash out on a really good card like Radeon R9 types then you can run any game at max. Well worth it.

If you post your DxDiag, we might be able to figure out why.

If you'd rather not post it on the forums, you may contact our Ubisoft Support for assistance. Thank you. http://support.ubi.com

How is it even possible to have drivers "a few years old" on a PC that is at max one year old.

Very possible as old drivers remain available to download sometimes for years

And laptops come with drivers pre-installed. So he decided to downgrade his drivers?
