We’ve almost doubled the amount of tracks in this week’s Uplay Recommended track drop. That’s 13 tracks! As usual there are 5 Trials tracks but this week we also have 8 X-Supercross tracks from the recent Editor Stream Homework Challenge 4. So let’s stop wasting time on this intro and talk about the tracks!
Pitch Black by dUBZEE-
Pitch Black looks pretty amazing and (when you find the line) it’s a fun track to ride. It took me about 25 minutes to figure out how to get a decent run, and I likely would have given up it I didn’t have to write this Uplay Recommended blurb on it. It would have been a shame, too. Other than being a little on the short side (and that sound in the beginning) dUBZEE has an excellent track with an amazing theme and awesome attention to detail. If you like a challenge I urge you to skip watching the video below (or any replay) until you pick up the platinum for yourself.
No time to play? Here’s the video, but go and play it on Track Central.
Cold Calling by ConfusedMuscles
I’m going to go ahead and say that Cold Calling takes place outside of a jetpack manufacturing plant. Why? Because I can. Why would they have a jetpack manufacturer in the Arctic? Because they all want to get the heck out of the cold. There’s flow to be found on CM’s more technical lines, and Cold Calling is no different. There’s a ton of detail, some fine use of custom light parameters, and enough rage inducing challenge to keep the fun going, or to keep the controlling going through your screen.
Check out this sweet replay, and then play Cold Calling yourself.
Sanctus by illobear
Illobear makes some difficult tracks. I sat down with Sanctus for about 15 minutes (while writing this) and the best I got was 4 faults. I’m also sure that when I’m done writing, I’ll be spending about 15 more minutes with it. I think Sanctus is beautiful, but the theme isn’t quite clear to me. For some reason I am picking up on Atlantis. Like the civilization fell long ago and nature started taking the land back, but someone is still around trying to keep order. There’s a signature illobear difficulty, somewhere between really hard and slightly extreme. I really dig this track, and I think you will too.
Check out the replay and see some of the nice touches and then dive into Sanctum on your own.
~G-up~ by G SatchmO
Flow-tastic industrial uphill. Boosh. Next Track.
No? Alright. Usually tracks that have an industrial theme have that worn down look like they have been out of service for a while. G-up looks almost brand new, yet still retains that ‘in-use’ vibe. This one is all about setting up your speed off of each jump to her the landing just right for the next one. I guess that could be said for all tracks, but its super noticeable in Satchmo’s track. I saw a few little camera-clips, but nothing that should discourage people from giving the track a few plays.
Here’s our replay, but how about playing it for yourself and telling us what you think?
T8-Infectious by Territory8
I’m getting vibes of a certain clown who is referred to by a face card name, and that’s not a bad thing.Big jumps, uphills… I mean, it’s just a FUN track to play. Same thing with a few camera clips, but it didn’t really take anything away from the track in my opinion. A little on the dark side, but that’s what the theme is. Good care was taken in making sure that whatever you are going to ride on is either lit up, or has a luminescent part on it.
Our video of Infectious is right here, but make sure to go and play it.
But wait. There’s more! This week we are also bringing 8 of the Homework Challenge 4 Tracks to Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Rusty Stadium by Nibor1hats
You can’t go wrong with a stadium track in any form of Supercross. Lots of sections for people to goof up just enough to keep the pack together, some great jumps and a fun feel are just some of what is awesome on this track. Also, it scored 1st place in the comp.
HW4 – Cold Snap by Ozy Be
Snowy Trials racing? I think the people in the studio can all relate to Ozy Be’s HW4 entry. The best part of this track is the multiple routes, and there are a few. The theme and decoration are really well realized, and that’s not even with the “for an XSX track” thrown in there.
HW4 – Paine Island by PneumaticBog484
Bog brings the nostalgia train full force on Paine Island. Even the checkpoints are nearly exact replicas of their Evo counterparts. And awesome track that (I think) just begs for use of the Panda. Get some friends and take a trip to Paine Island.
HW4 Contrast by PsyG1969
Welcome to pristine-dome! 8 riders enter, all 8 leave… but only one is the winner. This is a tricky track. You’ll catch your tires, you’ll flub up the landings… but so will everyone else. Also, it’s in a dome. Who doesn’t like a dome? A square, that’s who, don’t be a square.
HW4 Castle Fires by iwound00
Let me just get this out of the way. If someone built my castle that close to an active volcano, I would be a pretty upset samurai (notice it wasn’t “pretty, upset”. I’m not beautiful.) What I wouldn’t mind is a sweet driving line like what is included in Castle Fires, which is the 3rd place track in the HW4 contest.
HW4 Tox-City by funktastic-
The people of Tox-City are already dead; they just don’t know it yet. Just look at how much sludge is being improperly disposed of. That’s significant prison time. Tox-City is another track that reminds me of everyone’s favorite court jester with no court.
HW4 Lavarun Invitational by VEGASTRASH01
This is a weird category for me. As a Trials track, this is a Hard track (that’s how it’s listed), but you add 7 other people to the mix and it FEELS like an Extreme. It’s technical, it’s “uphill” and it’s rough. Not surprisingly it placed (at 2nd) in the HW4 challenge.
HW4 - Eismitte by IImayneII
Having already entered (and won) the Beta Build Off, IImayneII (aka bassline1) is no stranger to the X-Supercross mode and it shows on this wonderful snow themed track. Zip up your parka and take this one for a spin.
And there we have it. A ton of new stuff for everyone to play.
Until next week, all.
