Claimed free game, it is a demo...!?

Hi guys, I played fc4 for the 1st time today, and already having trouble with it

I got FC4 for free because of the AC unity season pass. I claimed the game today, I punched in the code onto my ps4

It showed it was only a demo! And it was only about 4GB in size! That's too small for a full game.

Anyway, I started the download and the update files and completed them. But in game information, under download status it said 4GB/26GB.

I started the game, after I completed the prologue, the game said the rest has to be installed, started from 32%.

I waited and I waited, it only advanced for 5% in about 2 hours times!! What is this!!? It means I have to keep the ps4 on all night while it install the game??

    I have 2 main questions,

    a. It said it was a demo but the full game, is it true? If not, why was the initial download just 4GB?

    b. It has to install the rest after prologue, but it is very very slow. Is it normal? Anyway to speed it up? Is that mean everytime after I delete and reinstall the game, I have to wait for half, maybe whole day for it to install!? I gotta put on FC4 so the installation will go on, that means I can't either turn the ps4 to rest mode or play another game in the mean time.

    Can anybody please help me?

    Hi,

The difference in size is correct - the PS4 will download a small section, to allow you to start to play the game, this is the 'Play Now' system - you will need to wait for the rest of the game to finish the download and install to continue though, so please be patient.

The download can continue in rest mode - just exit the game and it should continue, so it will download in the background.

Ubisoft has no control over the speed of your downloads, this is dependant on your line speed and how busy the PSN download servers are.

There is an error in the game title listing on the PS4 - it may show as 'timed trail' - however if you have access to the Single Player game - as you appear to have, you have the full game so please excuse the error.

Thanks for the information Mr Shade. Though, another question just pop up in my head. Is there anyway I can choose, to download and install the whole game first, then start playing it? I mean, I dun like playing the game, when it is still installing, I may have to wait (like now). Is there a way I can completely install the whole game first, only then start to play the game?

I ask that because player is uncertain of the time consuming while installing in game (there is no progress bar and estimated time), but if the game is completely installed then we have nothing to worry about while playing it

    Mr Shade, please advise.

If you don't want to play the game - just exit it - or don't start it when it states it's ready to play, and the download should continue in the background.

I think maybe u dun understand what my concern is. Even I let the download continue while I am in the dashboard, there is no indication inform me actually how the progress of installation is and how much time is needed for complete installation. Bottom line is, I wouldn't know when the total installation will complete.

It will not state it is ready (total install), it only shows it is playable after initial install. And while I am waiting installing now in game, there is no progress bar or estimated time, that inform me how long installation will take. This is my question.

    Mr Shade, any idea?

    Hi,

While on the XMB - highlight the game on the menu - and then press the [option] button on the pad - if you select information from the pop up menu - that should show you the current status of the download

The following steps will allow you to get a more accurate picture of the installation status of your game:
    · From the Ps4 main menu, please highlight your game and press the Options button on the controller
    · In the new menu, select information
    · This will bring you to a new screen giving you more detailed information about the game, including a download progress status, which will show you the progress of the download of the complete game.

This is the normal operational procedure of the PS4.

Thx for the info Mr Shade. I only ask that because I never purchase full game on psn that's all. I usually buy hard copy of games and this is my first time to download a full game on console, also the initial installation is new to me.

Not a problem - it works the same as the disc versions - it installs a little and allows you to start, though with a disc, it's able to install at a faster rate, while you play
