Great post Blaze, I can agree with the majority of what you've said there mate.
There seems to be too much negativity now tbh, but I feel a part of it and would be sad to leave, the last thing people want is people to leave, I left many occasions before but real life or how things have gone, we just have to accept the fact of what is going on and how we can help change it as a community for the better.
Here is some suggestions for the next Trials, based on Trials Fusion.
Global/Single player :
- A little story like Frontier
- More customisation for rider : male/female/alien/robot/animal/ninja skin etc, head, hair, skin color, and all custom stuff from evo like the ability to change glove or boots
- More customisation for bike : something like Trials frontier (more you play, more you unlock upgrade for your bike) BUT once you have a certain number of platinum medal (all non extreme tracks for ex), all your bike should be at 100 %. Something who affect the new players & something who doesn't affect the players who finish the game.
- Delete supercross option (4 Players), use only X-supercross (8 Players) who could work in local too
- A training program for ALL bikes (where is the one for the rabbit or panda in fusion ?)
- Seperated categories for Training program / Trials / skill game / fmx / and why not add a x-supercross categorie with leaderboards. Not all in one
- Secret event with trials ninja tracks only, unlocked once we get all platinum medals (these tracks should not count for the global leaderboard)
- All bikes enable on all tracks (with a little option who said what bike(s) is recommended to play)
- Expand the ingame money : "the creator allowed people to check his track in the editor, the price is 100.000$, do you wanna pay ?", "you can buy this object for 2.000$" (custom object made by a Trials builder) etc etc... if this systeme is well done, it could be really good i think
- No more tire glitchs, find something!
- A backwards option in the replays (fast and slow)
- A bigger size for text!
Tournaments :
- Permanent tournaments
- A permanent tournament who include ALL TRACKS of the base game (a sort of full speedrun mode, except maybe ninja tracks who are considered as hidden tracks)
Leaderboards :
- Track leaderboards by bikes
- Global leaderboards : Training program (a bit weir i agree) / Trials / skill game / fmx / x-Supercross
- 'Ultimate leaderboard' : ALL TRACKS COUNT (except ninja who are a secret)
- Ability to search by country
- A filter when we check leaderboards : Uplay (= crossplatform times/scores)
- A functional leaderboard (maybe use a bot who check/recalc players score every week)
- A track central leaderboard, based on the best tracks (ex: a redlynx feed)
Track central :
- A better layout (on Fusion, you can only see 8 tracks on the screen and they don't take the full screen)
- Moderators for TC
- Cross platform Track central for ALL TRACKS
- People should be able to watch replays even if they don't buy DLC
- Ability to play checkpoints of a track just by downloading the track, and why not have additonal leaderboards for CP
- A better rating systeme to see more high quality tracks at the top of feeds
- Ability to change informations about our own tracks (title, description, medals etc...), the tracks could also display their own ID to know what original track it is
Multiplayers :
- ALL gamemodes available
- Ability to create/search private servers, we (players) could also paid to have a private server (like battlefield for example), this could also be something to support the game/devs
Editor :
- Ability to resize objects
- Ability to invite friends in the editor mode (as spectator)
- Ability to make a team and create a track with friends
- A 100 % flat terrain/world
- Add tutorials and tips for new players
- Add MANY example tracks (who are impossible to upload)
Other :
- A finished game! (i don't want to be pessimistic but if you sell a new unfinished game, you will definitely lost many fans)
- Ps4 : Platinum trophy in reference to the TF awards named " 'True fan' : Do you just get the 100% ? ...", mean 2 senses : you finish the game at 100% & you don't finish the game at 100% because you didn't pass all the TC tracks. + an other trophy for beating all single players ninja tracks named "Mlcht" (if you know what I mean)
- A 100% cross platform game (times, replay, MP etc) but if this hapen call this game "Trials Revolution" !
Hope my suggestions are understandable![]()
Suggestions for next game?
Track builder employees.
Get who ever built tracks like Oil Rig Run, Beach Head, Oil Crisis, Lookout Point, Gateways, Sky City etc. etc.
All the builders who know how to make tracks that don't have tire glitches in them. Every dev says it's within the physics, yes, but there is a 'tire glitch' and then there's a 'glitch that happens on the tires due to the bad objects being used or placed badly'. Who ever made the list of tracks above, I salute you, you are true track builders who know what you are doing.
As for Fusion there are very little tracks which are not heavy on the bad object placement etc. Where are the builders who made Oil Rig Run and Sky City? I'd love to give them a personal congratulation for making my time as a speedrunner better. Who ever made Tectonic Jolt, won't be getting a congratulation.
The lines are fine, the lines in fusion are good, they have good shortcuts and just all round good, but most of the tracks themselves are not good due to the fact that there are so many tire glitches; again just making it clear I'm not taking about the physics based ones, I'm on about the ones that can be, and HAVE BEEN stopped in many tracks (look at list above for the tracks that don't have many if any tire glitches in them).
Who is monitoring the tracks? Who decides 'no that isn't good enough' or 'yes that track is good'? Or is there no one who looks at the tracks besides the track builders? If there isn't someone who tests the tracks for badly placed objects etc. etc., then my suggestion is to get one, as it will make the tracks so much better if the person you employed was someone who knows the game and knows where tire glitches are just by playing the track. If you do have someone employed ,they need to step up their game and do their job to put it bluntly.
Yes the 'wow factor' every redlynx employee keeps mentioning about attracts players to get the game. But look at the ratio of players who have got a score on the leaderboard and look at the players who have played a DLC track. If I had to make a guess, around 2million people bought the base game, probably 200,000 have bought a DLC, that's 1/10, pretty sure on Evo it was more on the level of 1/5.
Wow factor attracts people to buy the game, a well made game is what makes people buy the DLC and future games. Look to the future, around 9/10 of your customers probably won't be buying the next game you release.
If the leveling system returns in the next Trials game, money should be scrapped. I think it's redundant for unlocks to be based on both because once I reached the required level for an unlockable I always had the money for it anyway.
For rider customization, it feels unfinished in Fusion. I love the Contender and Biotech outfits but both of them have a blue color on them that can't be altered, and that irritates me. We should be able to color everything on the outfits. Also would like to see choices for male/female riders, skin, and feet/hand gear being their own thing again.
PLEASE don't make me play a phone game just to unlock stuff on the next Trials. I can deal with rider gear/bike parts as uplay rewards but pls no more phone business
A platinum trophy for PSN
Multiplayer being finished at launch.
and Everything mentioned about TC and track editor. I agree with it all.
This. Some ninja tracks actually take advantage of the laffy taffy front tire with brake flips or front wheelie. The tire glitch occurs at high-speed, and im pretty sure most ninja riders aren't easily amused by beginners/easy tracks (unlike me). Speedrunners such as the names mentioned above would be much better-suited...im pretty sure i qualify for a first class round trip to Finland but i want a 5-star suite with a mini bar and i want to be greeted by an Andes mint when i hit the pillows with the escort service you'll be providing as well.Originally Posted by empecee Go to original post
Anybody remember the Weakest Link made by Norfair on HD? Slinky had one run where he jumped off the start ledge, went down at an angle, slammed the front tire and did a quick endo and spring jumped the curved ramp without ANY loss of speed. It looked pretty cool and that was the one thing i was hoping to migrate to Evo but sadly, no...
In Evo, i played the very same track (remake) and tried to duplicate that move and could only pull it off once or twice- although it was just much faster to land on back wheel and spring jump.
Now in Fusion, it would be impossible as the front tire is consistent in the way it acts- makes me think its not really a tire glitch, you guys just made the suspension so stiff and the rider doesn't feel as agile as Evo did.
Im all for keeping the same engine, i actually like how the next-gen tracks look. I just think it really comes down to the bikes. Make it the similar to Evo (with added HD flexibility) and tire glitches wont occur anywhere anymore. There wouldn't even be a need for custom collisions.
Did i mention i was available to help with beta-testing the next Trials?
I agree with pretty much everything listed aboveI'll try to update my Editor Improvements thread as soon as I can too
Here are my ideas that I haven't heard mentioned yet...
Time Traveling Trials!:
The base game could contain three main time periods; modern, future, and something in the realm of 1820-1950s (can't decide on which period exactly. I'm imaging some type of steampunk style with industrial revolution style objects.) Since Evo and Fusion have both been about World traveling, be it going from a Coastline, to an Island, to a Desert in Evo, or traveling underground, into the oceans and in the sky in Fusion, the next game could be all about traveling through time, and each DLC could simply be a new time period. This would allow the object models to be varied as the game expanded, while keeping each DLC self contained so that they can still be purchased separate and there wouldn't be object overlap. Time travel could also make for good story material, and could serve to connect Fusion to the next game, and possibly even branch back to Evo.
Cinematically Connected Tracks:
Similar to how Eden and the next space map (my apologies, I have forgotten the name at the moment) were connected through their end-track scene in Empire in the Sky. I enjoyed seeing how two tracks could be woven together, and this could help with a progressing story as each track relates to each other somehow. Each track would still have to be distinct of course, like Eden and the space map, but they could have some connecting element at the end. Referring to the time traveling above, some tracks could just be connected through time machines at the finish line.
Change the FMX Bike to a Hoverbike:
This is probably a stupid idea, but I would like FMX more if I could focus on doing tricks instead of landing perfectly. I know the point of riding Trials bikes is to stick the landing, but FMX has already proven to be a different branch of Trials riding anyways. The hoverbike wouldn't negate all the skill, you would still have to land in the general right position and all, but it would sort-of "cushion" your landing so that you can keep pulling the trick right up until the last second.
Keep Fake Wheels on Quad, but remove the Trainers
I've noticed that the Panda actually has about 6 wheels that act physically on Trials maps. Two central "fake" (invisible) wheels that stay on the drive line and propel the bike forward, and four "trainer" wheels on the visible tires. I've played around and tested them out, and it seems the outer four stabilizer wheels only affect the bank of the axel, and make it look like the panda has suspension. I'll admit this is a pretty cool effect, but I have yet to see it fully realized. Most Panda tracks are on flat ground, and you never actually get to see the suspension in action. I think that some of the tire glitches the Panda experiences may be related to these four trainer wheels. I'll try to get a video later of what I'm talking about.
Tie All Standard Outfits and Body Kits to Platinums
All the Standard Outfits could be unlocked with base-game platinums (some tied to very hard tracks like an Inferno V helmet), and then a separate assortment of gear for money. All of this buyable gear would be tiered in value (100,000, 200k 1/2 million so on), and as each DLC rolled around you could add some gear to each list
I'm gonna back and read some of these posts, there was a comment someone made I really liked. Gotta go find it now.....
1. I would like to see a more in depth in game editor tutorial for new builders.!! I'm not saying there should be limits on what can be released to track central just some guide lines that should be met. Im so sick of the feeds on 360 swarmed with 10 minute builds while builders that take hours even days to build get there tracks pushed down. If a lot of these new builders new the potential of the editor I think they would spend the time to make a decent line and decor.
2.Ninja tracks should have there own category but don't effect GL.
3.Male and female riders with complete customization of the outfits. I also like bogs idea of unlocking gear when u platinum a track.
As a side note I hope there is a season 2 for fusion. I hope we get a new bike for this final season 1 DLC.![]()
I really like this idea, nice!Originally Posted by pneumaticbog484 Go to original post
