What would YOU like to see in the next Trials?! Suggestions/Feedback Compilation

I know its a little bit wee early, but presuming there probably wont be another DLC after the next one for Fusion, we all might as well get started on making our list of suggestions/possibilities for the next Trials- it is probably safe to assume the groundwork is already being laid out for the next iteration.

First off, i want to say that some of us are appreciative that the devs took alot of our previous suggestions and implemented them on Fusion (slow-mo replays, fav customs feeds, etc etc) but there was still some room left for improvement, a few things that were added later on that should have been included from launch date. It shows that while they may not be able to include every single feature, they are willing to work with what the community wants in Trials. Some of us felt a little letdown with how certain things were handled with Fusion, but after a year's of time, the game stands in pretty good shape and for that, we should move forward remaining somewhat optimistic. This thread is VERY important because it will shape how the next Trials plays out so if there is ANYTHING you want to add, please do so.

What do you think can be improved upon Fusion? Do you think there is anything that should make a comeback from Evolution? Would you like to see anything that reminisces of HD? Should there be an exclusive beta testing to ensure playability and help with reproducing bugs? It can be anything, ranging from the game engine/physics, to new bike designs/outfits, to multiplayer, to skill games/fmxs, or leaderboard/season pass inquires. Those are just off the top of my head.

Be sure to put your list of compilation what you would like to see in the next Trials...and dont be shy! Your suggestions/feedback is always invaluable and your ideas may even inspire the devs as long as it is in passive and constructive form, heh. Okay now that we got that out of the way...

Edit- i am currently preparing a long list of what i personally would like to see added, removed, etc and will post that later as soon as i finish.

I would deffo would like a resizing tool for the editor objects, of every piece, from miniscule to quite large, nothing OTT so it possible to make some really cool stuff without the shine of primes glaring through, this way you wouldn't need to have alterations of objects unless it had more bends in, like ramps etc.

Every piece should be colourable, this is a feature I was disappointed with that isn't in yet.

The glass in Trials has always had problems before with effects, I want to be able to see effects behind glass so I can see if it is raining or if there is a flame behind in the distance.

Sounds that work underwater as well as outside it, I have noticed that it doesn't change in Fusion, in Evo it worked, would be great to have this functioning too, sounds make the tracks awesome as it gives off more of an atmospheric backing.

More tracks would be great and an upgrading system similar to Frontier, but it could be made better for waiting times as such, prolongs the game in a way but keeps the competition as the more you play the more money you can keep getting and grinding, people can brag oh I beat you with a lesser graded bike. Would have to work around it for times, nothing too big on changes though.

More customization for the bikes and the rider, I feel we are missing out on so much at the moment, more different grades, working up in level to unlock parts or different shades, chrome, metallic paint jobs, casual etc.

The ability to make your own custom decals on your bike, this would be awesome for different clans, to show whom you represent for, like me for the OTHG, or Classy for the Heroes.

This would take a while but it'd be worth it.

    Nice post, Ret.

Firstly I would like to say that I do like Fusion, and have time for the game, but I don't believe the game was of a high enough standard at launch, with a few things missing.Working TC, MP for example.

MP at launch. Not everyone enjoys MP, but I would believe the majority would like to see it implemented.

Skill Game section worthy of HD. Spent hours and hours on the HD Skill Games, they were almost a game in their own right. Also, have Skill Games in their own category.

Theme. If it is based on some sort of Theme, make it have some form of variety, versatility. For the first part of Fusion's life the theme was too samey, and didn't have enough variety.

Scrap the FMX, or at least let it have it's own section in the game. FMX abuse was a disaster for the LB's, as well as the fact that you could be running a normal Trials track, for the game to suddenly decide to pull a stunt off when you're on a good run, killing the said run. Not fun.

A fully functioning TC at launch. Highest rated weekly/monthly/all time, Ninja feed, last played, etc. Some new additions about Fusion TC I do like. Expanded LB's, Team names, for example. Also bring back the flag of your particular country, like Evo had.

Editor to make the builders proud. I'm no expert on this part as I don't build, but things like variety of objects, scalable size objects, the ability to alter colour variations on objects. The builders amongst us could be better suited to explain this part. The community will be the life blood of the game, so they need to have the tools and objects they need to keep TC flowing.

Make the game Next Gen/PC only. Whether the 360 held the game back I don't know, but the game needs to be of the same universal standard across all the systems. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but numerous 360 owners I have spoken to would rather have had extra Evo DLC's than a dumbed down version of Fusion. I think it was honourable for the developers to make the game on 360, as most of us came from that system, but it did have shortcomings.

Bikes that you can feel the difference in variety with. Evo's bikes were all fun to use, with their huge differences in abilities and scope. Donkey, Phoenix, Gecko, Scorp. All behaved differently and needed work to be competent with them.

Was just thinking about some suggestions, will add many more things later likely when ideas pop up.

    Platform:
PS4/X1/PC only, sorry for X360 but 2016 is the official last year of support, and I don't think the next Trials should try to be compatible on it.

    DirectX 11/12 compatibility??

If there's a game for 360/PS3, go like the AC:Rogue way releasing seperate game for those.

Maybe even cross platform functionality between X1 and PC windows 10?

    Timeline/Story:
I'd like to see some more generic themes, current day/past/future is fine just make sure the themes fit together as a whole, Fusion felt a bit too seperated forcing people into futuristic tracks, especially without DLC, it vastly improved since then, but I still miss things like wooden planks sometimes (ofc dunno what comes in DLC6)

    Editor improvements:
I felt fusion had too many object sets that are seperate and not really compatible due to lack of color options, biggest example is like there's 5 types of rocks: Cliff/Desert/Ice/Cave/Magma, and most of it including the flat pieces best suited for drivelines are not recolorable.

Things I'd love to see vastly improved on objects:
    - Color options, everything recolorable, lots of fusion objects have no color settings at all like most rocks/concrete/building parts/vegetation).
    - Collisions, lots of objects have no matching collisions like cliffs/robot pieces/large building/round pieces hardly match their actual models so mostly useless as driveline unless covered with extra objects, as well as trying to remove tire glitching.
    - Custom Collisions: Remove the dust effect and add more shapes like ramps/curves.
    - Avoid situation like adding like 30 different white objects with no settings to change colors at all (some have bad collision too )

    Advanced Editor additions:
    - Object scaling : like custom collisions, scale objects themself.
    - Object Snapping: Like 2 curved ramp pieces to snap perfectly, maybe multiple preset snap points on certain objects.
    - Terrain tools vastly expanded (polygon/grid based editing), textures showing even in the background, and on flat terrain without bugging out. Crafting mountains in a more natural style, and blending terrain with cliffs better (matching color/textures).
    - Object textures : Would love to see an object/terrain painting tool that works to add like rust/dust/dirt/snow/graffity on objects or some color/textures in general.
    - Water tools: would love to see river or open water (lake/sea) tools for flowing water & waves , even if it's a few presets it's better then the current flat water. As well as expanded water textures/colors/glow/reflection settings so we don't need seperate lava.

    Main focus:
    - Trials mode should be the most invested mode with Trials bikes that make sense, like 2 bikes for faster, 2 bikes for technical tracks.
    - Working Leaderboards+Replays, so glitches scores are a thing of the past as much as possible.
    - Multiplayer at launch : XSX/Single lane main priority, with good amount of preset track rotations maybe in different categories/difficulty of matchmaking.

Main points to try to avoid even if they were unforseen:
    - FMX/Coffin the aftermath to this date caused a lot of havoc on the leaderboards which was one of the bad points of Fusion.
    - Tire Tire Tire glitching, bike going through objects and even standard ramps/cylinder objects causing random issues at random times but it still ruins a large portion of gameplay & limits editing if you have to put collisions on everything to make it feel smoother (double the work+adds objects to tracks that shouldn't be needed in the first place)

    TC:
    - Wishes (cross platform TC)
    - Ninja feed from day 1, and expanded filters to search for tracks by date.
    - Ninja as difficulty rather then a tag.
    - Friend/favorite feeds with filters.

    Added ideas:
    - Make sure we get all the available objects/sounds as in the ingame tracks (squirrels/penguins/cyndi/george/zudia for example), more of "our tools are your tools" policy.

Couple of TC related things I would like to see.

A what's your friends are riding feed which automatically shows recent tracks your friends have been riding.

The ability to create custom feeds that people can subscribe to, i.e. A OTHG feed that contains our weekly tracks that people can subscribe to.

I'd like to see some of the below stuffs....

More bikes like in Evo, if the Panda stays it should go on a proper diet and become more agile.
More body kits etc to spend in-game-cash on, and more parts that you can colour individually.
Objects you can colour and resize in the editor. It would also be cool to be able to paint textures on objects.
Separate skill game section and FMX section if it stays.
Hidden ninja tracks in separate section that are unlocked by completing all extremes (if there is any hidden ninjas next time).
Ninja difficulty setting in the editor so they can have their own section in TC.
A block user option in TC would be sweet, that way no one is prohibited from uploading tracks but we could filter out what we don't want to see - we can be our own curators of TC then.
    Jelly beans...

Some great suggestions in here! Keep em comin guys...

Heres a few ideas of mine.

    1) Make ninja an official difficulty - this would make browsing MUCH easier, i.e. don't have to scroll through each extreme just to see which is ninja and which is not. This alone warrants a much-needed change that is vital to making navigation through TC more accessible. Ninjas should have its own feed for 48hr/weekly/all-time. Because only 1% of the community can complete ninjas, it should be required that the rider to get all track platinums in the base game to unlock that difficulty- otherwise alot of new people would just jump in and end up getting frustrated, cant have that now can we?! Also, this suggestion was brought up by several people before Fusion came out. If RL does not want this to happen, then you guys need to be straight up and at least tell us why.

    2) Retain the slow-motion, fast forward of the replays. This is essential for 'studying' replays for competitive purposes and should remain in the game- i only mention this because slow-motion was added in at a later date (thanks to some of our suggestions). Maybe a rewind function would come in handy instead of having to loop the run again just to watch that one move.

    3) Revert to Evo's TC layout- Make TC much easier to navigate through. Although Fusion's TC is in a much improved state now, it was not like that at the beginning. Evo had the best TC layout. It was simple and most importantly, straightforward. Make your own custom feeds was a great addition and that should remain in future Trials. Im not fond of the searching function where after you filter the search, and only see lines of all beginners tracks rated from highest to lowest- i would have to click on each one of them just to see the thumbnail and if the track is enticing enough for me to play. It should be the same as Evo, right after you filter what you are looking for, you would see a grid of track thumbnails and the creator. This was nothing less than perfect in my opinion. It only showed the first 50 tracks, so maybe that could be expanded tenfold on the newer trials. The theme of the layout can be the same as what the next Trials is all about, but the layout itself should be similar to Evo. 'If it aint broken, don't fix it' really applies here.

    4) More bike/outfit customizations. In Evo, there were alot of cool outfits but they were expensive and required alot of grinding. In Fusion, you could buy anything for Dirt Cheap. I have $450,000 in the bank and already bought everything. It was too easy. Aim to strike the right balance in the Trials. Add ALOT more outfits and plenty of bike designs to choose from but make the cost moderate and considerable. Like i said, just have it all balanced. You should be able to purchase at least 75% of the outfit/bike designs from the base game by the time you complete career mode (with all gold/platinum medals). The rest can be bought from money earned in TC, MP, et cetera. There REALLY needs to be more to choose from. I cant see why RL wouldn't make this happen. Also, there should be exclusives outfits/bike designs that can be earned from previous trials accumulations (100% completed of HD, Evo, Fusion) or something along that line. Or a rider t-shirt that says "I bought Fusion on all 4 platforms and all i got was this lousy shirt". You know, whatever works.

    5) Host a beta testing phase where RL can invite speedrunner-exclusive riders to test for various of tire glitches. Otherwise, you will never hear the end of it from the community, so trust me on this one ok? I know there are issues such as illegally recording gameplay, taking screenshots without permissions, but i think taking that risk for the sake of making the next trials play out more smoothly makes it much worth it- you can always ask the few and extraordinary trustworthy members of this site if you guys are so concerned about the legal parameters. Again, if this is not something that RL will see through, then you should make it clear from the start that there wont be a beta and tell us why you think we cant provide essential feedback through testing.

    6) A super-secure leaderboard. Basically speaks for itself, but i will break it down a little bit. Ok i don't think i need to remind you of the coffin run fiasco. But if there are to be FMX in the next trials, they should be DISABLED (sorry Shifty) or THOROUGHLY tested (by us, the riders) so that there are no exploits to be had from pulling tricks that boosts speed in any way whatsoever. The new game needs to be AIRTIGHT. No exploits or game-breaking advantages- no broken leaderboards. Therefore, recalculations would not be necessary. Individual track and skill game leaderboards works just fine (except for that part where if you have someone on your friend list beat you by like .005, their rank falls below you). However, there should be Global AND DLC-Global leaderboards. Going with only one leaderboard on Fusion was a mistake. I can understand your reasoning behind it, but it works out the best this way with the community. Also, there should be an accumulated leaderboard for all skill games combined and another one for all FMX combined- but still remain separate of the global leaderboards of course. I can assure you this would make more of incentive to compete on those gamemodes, i know it is something that would persuade me to improve it a little more than just settling for platinum and never going back to it again.

    7) MP- i like how it is on Fusion, apart from the occasional lag, i don't see anything wrong with it. Now that you (RL) has it all worked out, it should be a simply copy & paste for the next trials, to include it in from release day, with the additional of single player tracks, not just supercross. Also, it wouldn't hurt to add skill games/FMX in MP for those who like to compete on it. MP leaderboard should be based on how many games you've won vs the strength of the riders you've opposed, like TrueSkill matchmaking and having that carry over to leaderboards so it can demonstrate who all the best MP riders are. Tournaments should NOT be a part of MP leaderboards, they have absolutely nothing to do with one other.

    8) Tournaments. I don't mind how it was changed up from Evo to Fusion, but i would really like to see a little bit of HD style make a comeback. Have like 10 sets of permanent tournaments with tracks from the base game and add an accumulated times leaderboard for all tournaments combined. They still should not play a part in Global ranking because that is ONLY based on individual track riding, its a little bit different. You can still add in changing-tournaments like you do on Fusion but do that with featured customs (or Uplay recommended). That way it really changes things up and makes it a little bit interesting.

    9) Teams- i didn't really mind this addition to Fusion, but other than saying 'Oh look im on the best team so im cooler than you are', it doesn't really do anything. If Teams are to remain on the next Trials, there should be more that follows through with it, bi-weekly clan matches, or a monthly tournament hosted by RL. I also think its too easy to dominate with one team by allowing 50 players on it- i think it should be no more than 10. Don't get me wrong, i love being on the Hero team and seeing all the other riders running away quivering in fear when i make my presence in the mp lobby, but.... it should be more balanced and make it interesting to see great riders being pitched against one other than picking on the weaker guys. But you see my point anyway. Have something concrete to follow out the concept of Teams and therein, make it balanced instead of lopsided. There also should be contracts and free agency just for the lulz.

    10) Bring back the 5-star rating system! This isn't facebook. The rating sytem was pretty fair on Evo, and TC basically played itself out with alot of tracks in their appropriative (respectfully) places. Take 'Impossible Stairs' for instance. Its a gimmick, right? Well on Evo, sometimes id see one and just play it because i was bored or something. I tell myself, 5 minutes and im done. 45 minutes later, i get the WR on it and im thinkin, what a stupid gimmick. But it was a good one because it pulled me in. Hence im going to give it a 3 star. You cant do that on Fusion. You cant 'like' it because you hated it to begin with. But you cant 'dislike' it because you couldn't bring yourself to stop playing it until that perfect run came along. Same thing with playing a PuRpLE oOzi's track. You cant dislike it because you like the guy. But you cant like it because its...well, oOzi. Too much dilemma. Do away with it and bring back the 5 star rating. Everyone, make sure to be vocal on this one if you want a more fair and balanced rating system to justify all the custom tracks!

    ...to be continued.

I'd like to NOT see tire glitches, what I think you guys need to do is to hire someone who is a pro rider to test your tracks... So then you can know whether or not they have glitches or not. Literally on some of the tracks its so easy to see how 2 boards have like a 45 degree angle in the middle and you hit that and its just Rip.

Ah, the thread I was looking for. I`ll mostly copy/paste my suggestions from the other thread since this one seems better suited.

    - Button to set back two checkpoints. That would help learning tracks / specific obstacles.

    - Theme:
It almost seems there is nowhere to go from Fusion. I`d like to see the theme more spread out, ranging from more realistic, Evo-style settings to an even further future with Anti-Gravity bikes.
On a sidenote, I`d find it quite ok to re-use some of the assets they already have, they are good, why throw them away.
Also, not too many dark themes for me, I like to see where I go.

    - Controls:
Analog driver position, directly linked to the stick position, probably even with some vertical movement.
I understand this would be riscy and bring in a lot of troubles to overcome, from new physics to keyboard users, but it might be worth it.

    - Bikes:
Find a way to make every bike useful in the long run. Right now its more like tutorial / personal challenge bikes + Pit Viper.
Bikes could be asigned to track themes. Or to surface types (like a spiked bike for snow tracks etc.).
Speaking of surface types ... surface specific physics (sand, snow, gravel, tarmac,...) could add depth too.

    - KTM Freeride
I know, no licensed bikes, but it`s a fantasy wishlist anyway, and I just love that design.

    - I am with aMcConghie16, gender would be a nice bonus too. I`d also like to see the customization depth from Evo coming back.
