setting the Lighting Quality to "ultrahigh" fixes the shimmer problem, but it also causes the Camera Zoom and any cutscenes to become blurry. anyone have any ideas on fixing the blurriness problem? i know this was an issue with 1.5 before...

yes the screen flickering is gone but mine have blurriness to and colours are not good, so the only thing i changed is the Lighting Quality to "ultrahigh"
I can fix blurriness and colours by change the overall graphic quality in the graphic setting from ultra to high and back to ultra so i do this every time i start the game and all is good then link in 1.8.0

However, I found a solution for AMD users. I downloaded Far Cry 4 patch 1.8 reloaded, I install it in a new folder, next I copied files of bin and win32 folders in the folders of Far Cry 4. In this way, it's possible to play the game with 1.8.0 patch, but in uplay online mode. Last, you will see Yetis valley available in menu, like in the 1.9.0 patch, but I can't try to see if the DLC starts becausa I don't have it.

    This one really does work.

Update: AlphaToCoverage doesn't matter. Just forcing 16xAF & setting LightingQuality to "ultrahigh" in the GamerProfile.xml file is working for me.
Cool, this actually worked for me. Everything is maxed out except Shadows, which is set to ultra. Thanks for this!

Edit: Camera and cutscenes blurry but I can live with it. Flickering within the game, I could not.

Blurry camera should go if you turn off AA in-game.

Ubisoft are really annoying me with this, with every patch the game gets worse before 1.9 I was playing fine.

Changing the SLI profile to batman arkham using the Nvidia inspoector seems to work too although the game has crashed since. Don't know if that's patch 1.9 at work on the change in SLI profile but it defo gets rid of all flickering.

Has anyone heard anything from ubisoft other than the post in the begining of this thread. I can't believe they won't even so much as say we're still working on it Or something. Come on guys were all human and make mistakes .I paid 60 dollars for this game like a lot of other people here did and I feel like I bought something had it for 2 weaks and you came over my house a broke it and then just walked away. Grow up and act like men and at least communicate with your customers instead of just leaving us hanging. Thats unacceptable and uncalled for. there should be a law against treating paying customers this way.
    Ok I'm done.
