Just want show how disgusted i am at a developers idea of contructive feedback , i have entered many comps in this forum and it doesn't bother me if i win or not because i like taking part and i continue to enter them but i dont expect to be singled out and have my work be ripped to shredds by a developer. I sat and listend for the whole 7 races to dJ ripping into my track, Pulling it apart here there and everywhere. Now feedback is great but thats not feedback. He hardly said anything postive about the track and never hardly said anything about any other track in the comp now to single mine out and says so much bad things regarding it is unprofessional and obviously an attack simply because he doesnt like me. Now this is most likely due to my vocal attitdue in this forum but my involment in here should not play apart in my particapation in competitions.
I didnt enter to win nor did i spend hours of time making my track to be ripped into. That was not contrsutive feedback and not a way to treat someone who has worked hours on a track for your game. I will add also that i did have a recongnised person test my track and recived great feedback from the person . I know people my think that i am moaning and not happy because i didnt win , but im not i am simply disgusted that dj has made me feel that my work is absolutly crap.
I feel your opinion dj was based on whats gone on in here and not what was in my track simple as that.
I respect what people with experience say , the good and the bad but when a person with experience as dj has singles one track out of comps and rips into it , that either means that the track is indeed crap and worthless or that there is other reason for this other than contrustive feedback.
My track is lined up exact , most lanes have vairation , detail and infact are almost identical in lines in means of the level. none of this was seen or mentioned just djs onslught of negative points neither was the lighting which i know is a fav of djs in which there wasnt any in any other track bar one. this was unfair on a creator who spent hours making a track for your game. The track actually fits most of what was required in the list so i have no idea why according to dj its such a bad track. I dont like being singled out but now you have , maybe you can give me alittle more what reasoning about your negative feeback towards my track.
What was so bad about it that you had to rip into it for a ful 7 races.
I would like to thank shogun tho because i could tell he had some good things to say about it but it seemed like dj needed to dominate the feeback on my track with a dominant negative theme.
i know this wont be liked and will be looked at as though i am being a baby but its not that at all , i can take bad feeback , as well as good , but when you enter a comp you dont expect one of the judges to single yours out and pick every bad point out of it they can think of. I want to know why dj never mnntioned anything about the variating dls, the detail , the theme. If you read the discription it tells you the theme , toxic pipes and sewers. which is in a backyard of a ficional city. I have seen from many redlynx tracks that a theme is used in a ganeral way , like some of the top x cross track in the monthly feed. Flame wats is one that dosnt give one explanatory point to what it is. It was suppose to be mixed , thats what a sewer and enviroment would look like maybe.
It is obvious you have a problem with me , which i was unawear of but thanks for the public humiliation I wont be entering any more comps to be ripped into aganin. I was humiliated as it was mainly my track that was deemed unworthy for the comp. Its bloody disgusting to me the way you singled out my track and ploughed into it. wht was wrong with it let me see ,
Bad ending
bad theme
Not realy a theme
To many level spikes.
which was alll rubbish , that was the theme , thats the point of a fictional toixc city placed in the sewer foundries , you never even saw the time saver at the end of the track. all bikes were possible on them each having thier own difficult level. Not one bit a constructive feeback at alll. alot of ideas and work went into this track , and yes badger that how the steel bars are. The mixed variation in the parts of the track was to resemble an actual expanding enviroment , when you have the same all the way through the gives one dimension to something, but all variations of object used was still witin the boundries of a sewer and what would maybe found in a toxic playgorund. I was under the impression you wanted actuall detail actua work gone into a track. In which you got and for a personel statment in the feeback as a whole in which you made ws totally uncalled for , The lanes were changng in variation all the time some closed some changing to open , nothing was even mentioned. I worked bloody hard on this track and added lots to try and please gamers , now i didnt expect to win or was even wanting to but i never expect to be humilated by a develapor. You said you didnt like gigving feeback , then why did this seem to change when commenting on my track ?.
I will get bashed for posting this , nobody will agree with me as they never do and i will no doubt be called all the names under the sun. at the end of the day all i did was enter a comp and expected the same treatment as any other entry i didnt enter it to be told i am a crap builder or to sit and listen to one develepors negative opinion about it for a full 7 races. I can take people saying this and that but then expect the same on other tracks , so either all other tracks was superior to mine or mine was just toaly unworthy of entering. Because hardly anything was said about other tracks.
Constructive feedback is a mixed of negative and positive things about a track , feeback thats is all simply negative is nothing more than an attack on someones work and not constructive at all. You can shove your feeback where the sud dont shine , i think my track is good it has its flaws but i am stanindg by it , i like the changing variation in the objects because is adds and expanding theme to an ever growing world thats around us , not a one liner theme that only implys whats comig next.
Thats what i like and i build for me not you

Part with funk's track starts around 1:24
Whats the track's name and the gamertag where i can look it up? I may be able to justify what Dj said about your track, but im sure he had his reasons.
Edit- is that the Tox-City one? Judging from the replay, it didn't look too bad. A little bit technical but i didn't see anything wrong with it. Seemed to be kind of decent tho but that's just from watching the stream.

Hey man, trust me when I say that I understand what an ego crushing experience it can be to hear people critique your work. Especially if it's something that you've spent hours/days on. Nobody wants to hear that this thing they spent so much time on is flawed. I think you may have focused on the negatives, as there was definitely positives listed for the track.
Were dropped frames mentioned? Yeah, but it's part of the judging process. It was also mentioned on the track directly following yours and on each track where frames were dropping at the beginning.
Blue asked if a custom camera "really needed to be there" and both Shogun and DJ said "Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of custom cameras, but it makes sense."
"The only downside is that the camera cuts a little bit before you cross the finish line". - Shogun
"I like this driving line, it's really technical and it's kinda hard cause I played this one on the weekend, I played it more than the other ones, and it's got this feel like I could do it better". - Shogun
"I was going to say that it has some difficulty spikes, but honestly after playing it, it's really nice" - DJ
"Probably the checkpoint you have should be a bit further back" - DJ
Then they made fun of Morfyboy's internet for a bit. (Sorry, Morf!)
"You notice that at the beginning it's having some frame drops" - Blue
"Probably because everyone is together" - Shogun
"Something to think about, cause you'll definitely have 8 players at the start" - Shogun
"There's a bit of lag when you cross checkpoints" - DJ
"Yeah, but XSX did the same when we first launched" - Badger
"Yeah, it's definitely just something to think about" - DJ
Then there is this part where DJ and Shogun started arguing:
"I thought it was a strong theme, everything fit in what it was going for. It wasn't necessarily a power plant or something, but it had this... the theme is consistent" - Shogun
"I think there's a theme there, but you have to be more imaginative as to what's there. Like there are pipes here and some ruins here. I think it's a bit cluttered with the objects. The areas change on what objects are used. They don't seem to fit together to show me what this place is." - DJ
"I think the visual style is fine, it feels like one place and it all fits together. You don't want the track to all feel the same" - Shogun
"But it has to have a meaning. The only theme I'm getting is industrial and toxic lava" - DJ
Then Blue talked about a single jump for a minute.
That's about it, man. It was a few minutes of them talking about the track and line being fun, and then about a minute where Shogun and DJ argued about their views on the decoration.
I don't think the VOD is available right now, but I'm watching this section logged into the RLO account and I'm really not hearing anyone go after your track, especially not for 7 races in a row. It was mostly positives with only the theme being an area of contention for DJ, even though DJ still said that it was good.
PS: Apparently the VOD IS live.
I didn't feel like anyone attacked your track funk. They were just playing through the tracks with the purpose of being nit-picky. DJ mentioned some specific things, but I feel like since he is a builder himself he sees things that others may miss.
I feel they made some good points, there are things you should try to improve next time. And that is the fun of building tracks isn't it? Getting to improve all the time.

For example, they gave tips on the ending, about the camera and adding a checkpoint. Because they said that, doesn't mean they think the ending is bad, that is your conclusion from their feedback. It was constructive and good feedback in my opinion. It could possibly be something I would have mentioned too if I was to test your track so I don't see the problem.
The theme, you heard Shogun disagree, it is more a personal preference than anything. But I can see the points 2witchy made and on some level I agree. 2witchy just mentioned how he sees how you could improve the theme, he doesn't say, "I don't like this part" and "this themed part is so bad." He gives you valuable tips on how to improve a theme. Again, I don't see how that's a bad thing. And I agree with most of what he said on how to improve it.
I am sorry you feel so negative about their feedback because to me it certainly didn't came off as "let's just bash Funk his track".
Funk. You have your opinions, I completely accept that but I'm not going to lie, your attitude toward this is more than unacceptable in my eyes. If you want to talk to me about my feedback on a track you made and accepted to put in a competition. You send me a PM! Not deal with it this way. I have nothing more to say to you, I am sorry you cannot take my feedback and that you are taking it in a very bad way.
