The Road To Victory: The Modern Day

    Hi!
Before you start to read, know that this thread isn’t facts or speculations, just my ideas in professional looking writing way. Also I won't talk about the story here just technical and gameplay things.
    Enjoy reading!

1.Animus sections, the bleeding effect and training:
For the first time in the series, the animus effects on the person using it will have more effect on him.
Every time you pause the game on the upper right corner you will see a watch.

This watch showing how much time you was using the animus, after few hours of using the numbers will be in red to single you using the animus for too much time. Note that you don’t must to leave the animus, but every time you will delay it you will suffer more and more from the bleeding effect. Eventually will distract and confuse you on modern day mission and free roam.

The second effect of the animus on you is the same way its affect Desmond, its trained him. Desmond get the skills of his ancestors by using the animus, same case here. Every skill, move, and weapons we will learn and use with Samuel, our MD protagonist will also use it. Giving us more ways to pass MD missions and secrets to open.

    welcome to the training room

2.The modern day HQ and mini games:
This may little be on the story…we will play as an assassin, and we will be with assassins, in assassins HQ.
The MD HQ have several side activities, first, there is the relax room, the room every assassins visit after long using of the animus.

In that room you can eat and drink (using the animus on an empty stomach will affect the gameplay and make the screen more darker in the sides. Also in the relax room you can talk with people and play mini games like chess, poker and more.

Moving on to the next room, it’s the training room. In this room you will try and train on the things you learned from Samuel to unlock them and use them in the MD missions. In addition you can customize your gear and choose what you want to use in the MD missions.

The third room(or the first you will see in the game) is your office, in this room you can change outfits (the MD is in third person view), see your rewards (mini statuettes, pictures and documents and track yours progress in the MD.
The HQ has more rooms but now it's up to you to explore them.

explore and find the secrets of the HQ

    3.Hacking and tech supporting:
In addition to be an assassin you also a tech support expert, in the HQ you need to fix broken animus systems and other computers. Revealing secrets and more MD story. During MD missions you can find computers to hack and get more information on the mission and more.

be part of the tech support team

    4.Side missions:
MD missions are special mission that sending you outside the HQ to a different location and different objectives every time. Missions like assassinations, stealing, escort and tailing. As an assassin you get to use parkour and stealth to pass the missions, but be aware of the police and abstergo agents because you unlikely survive the gun shots.

In each MD mission you have 10 minutes before the templars will track you down and then you lose the mission. (Note that if you complete the objective before the time runs out you can stay and free roam until the time to leave come). Before every mission you get to change your gear and after that you will be drop from air to the location from a chopper.

Because there is no hey stacks the MD assassins using swing suits, you can perform swing assassinations and use the swing suit in free roam for faster navigation.
The main location of the MD mission is cities with big crowds but you will also visit jungles, deserts and more.
There are 30 MD mission with story line but after the 30th mission the MD mission will generate random location and objective.

free roam in modern day cities

Holy crap, I'd buy that game 10 times if this actually happened. Unfortunatelly, I seriously doubt it.

I like the idea of the MD missions.

I think the novelty of the bleeding effect and eating in the break room would wear off very fast and would just become a chore.

Maybe instead there could be things scattered around the HQ that give you perks in the animus, but making it a requirement would be extremely frustrating especially when you are trying to gather collectibles and whatnot after finishing the story.

thanks, maybe an option to triger it on and off in the setting? or give the option to upgrade the animus for more time to use.

Pretty cool ideas. But, other people y'know who are the reason why we have the MD as it is in Unity might not like your ideas...

I think that if Ubi wants to please both sides of the fans, the ones who like MD and the ones who don't, then they should make the missions optional. You can do it by yourself, like in AC3, or you can choose to send another Assassin to do it for you, like the companion mission in AC Unity.

Toggle switch. I guess that would work.

Extend timer. No.... Because that would still be a requirement.

After completing the story, I would rather enter/exit the animus on my terms.

Take Rogue for example. If I want to spend hours just exploring and picking up collectibles, I don't want to be forced to go put a dollar in the vending machine in the break room.

Same for exploring the MD. I don't want to be punished because I went at my pace and spent too much time in the animus.

You should only be forced to do one or the other by predetermined points in the story.

Your idea isn't bad, I just think after the first few sessions most people would get annoyed by it.

Great ideas. I agree with what some people have said. It does need tweaking here and there, but the overall concept is amazing.

It looks cool, though some of the things I'm not sure about.

Still, I do agree that MD needs to be a proper story again. Unity's was just so much disappointment, we got, what, one (short-ish) cutscene and a couple of voice overs? I kind of regretted preordering and paying full price for that, tbh.

And more importantly the MD needs to be advertised so that new players aren't blindsided by it and start complaining.
