    Showdown leaderboard is ridiculous

Guess what, I'm 2nd! But I know there are a lot of good players that can beat me.

It started yesterday when I wanted to earn more chips to unlock Waste Disposal track, so I started 20 showdowns. I lost only one of them I guess (to GTDave) and that brought me to the 2nd place, bypassing really good players.

Seems like your skills don't matter, it's all about the number of showdowns you won. If so, I guess such scenario could be true:
You are at position 20, far from being a legend. Then you start 1000 showdowns, which should do instant matching ,because there are a lot of players at such level. You win every single showdown, because you are a good player, what will automatically bring you to legends and to 1st place, because only the number of showdowns won matters. At this point you can stop playing and will remain 1st till the end of the season, because as closer you get to legends as harder it gets, so the probability to loose is higher, and other players won't be able to win 1000 showdowns over time.

    Then you start 1000 showdowns
There is a max of 50 at a time. But it probably works; I essentially did this yesterday on IOS as well. ...

... needed 21 stars to get legends from rank 5 with 5 stars.... started 16 showdowns. Decided partway through that I might lose some and wanted more to be sure, so I started another 7. But it all turned out well and I ended up with 23 straight wins... but only needed 11 wins to get legends. So.... I got 12 "extra" wins as a legend against opponents that were non-legend ranks 3-7. Every win increased my legend rank....

My game shows me on the Legend LB rank 6 today. (of course, with the massive LB bugs they have right now who really knows if its truly there or not?)

Of course I am not staying there.. I am an "in it for the chips only" guy and will be losing as as soon as it suits me. But I can see someone starting 50 showdowns right before end of season and pushing themselves to the top with those 40 wins in the last day. If I can get rank 6 with 12 wins, I suspect rank 1 is within range of 40 wins....

This could be interesting technique. E.g. you are 6th legend, then you loose a little bit and go to 14th place, then you start 50 showdowns, win them all, and might go to 1st or 2nd place.

The only problem, there is no special prize for 1st or 2nd place, so there is no point in doing so.

it makes sense that more showdowns played is the most important factor because it makes it more enticing to spend money on tickets to get there. If it was truly based on skill and quality wins tickets wouldnt be as important.

There is no prize for people being first to legends either, but people enjoy doing it. Legends rank is pretty important to a lot of folks...... (we do all tend to be fairly competitive)

A bit off-topic but still- Don't get me started about unfair match making,a lot of good players just start from rank 14 all the way to top by 50 showdowns,i would be happy if they limit showdowns to 8-10 at a time and 50 golden tickets usage per showdown(enough already) and some are dropping ranks right now *cough*,its free to play but should be skill based>money based.

I actually think it has more to do with win PERCENTAGE rather than just wins. I just got to legend yesterday, and I kept track of my W/L record. I went 35-4. I am ranked 10th on the legend leaderboards. I think 35 is a pretty low amount of wins, but the fact that I only lost 4 seems to have me up there in the ranks. Hard to tell for sure, but I know that last season when I was legend and got wins, the rank would go up a bit, but ONE loss would take it down a lot!
