I play on Hard; a nearby guard will hear that alarm box "popping open" with indeed a fairly loud bang (as far as the player is concerned - to let you know you hit it???) and come investigate it. This also with the bow.Originally Posted by Pinza-C55 Go to original post
I have never had an issue with AI knowing where I am or hearing the shot. If I snipe I stay at a distance, they may discover the body but my position is never known (once they figured the direction, and even with them on a mortor...were way off.). I have used the A.J.M to clear an outpost with no issues. I haven't used the stinger, it just seemed like a clumsy, inaccurate gun for stealth.
I don't think he mentioned yet what sidearm he was using. If it was the Stinger though, I can see why it happened.Originally Posted by CrashDrake07 Go to original post
Pistol was stated. Based on the purchase options employed, I assume one of possible four (?)Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
I know he said pistol, but he may have mistaken a silenced sidearm that's not actually a pistol for a pistol. Until he says exactly what he was using, we don't know for sure what it was. Most of the silenced single shot pistols aren't loud enough to yield the results he spoke of.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post

UPDATE: found an old save. Used a suppressor-equipped 6P9 on the guy in the basement as the very first kill - nothing heard after one-shot to head. Hard difficulty setting. Was of course now in the basement with dudes near all three exit points ...![]()
Are there single shot pistols in the game? Which ones? Just curious, as I never used any pistols in FC4.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post![]()
Sounds exactly how things happen usually with surpressed stealth kills .Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
what I think happend with him is :
a) he missed the shot once and shot that close to the enemy he was that his alert trigger was activated and if the alert trigger is activated on a single guy then the whole nearby guys are triggerd that way too
b) before he headshoted him he bodyshoted him so again his alarm was triggerd
c) he used a weapon wich is that strong that the bullet continues to fly after he hit the deadly shot and the bullet impacted close to an nearby soldier so he got frightened and his alarm trigger was released
Looking at the whole thing the AI of far cry 4 is realy the cheapest of the cheapest interms of coding and design .
Yeah then i even more could imagine just missed the first initial shot and with the 1 or 2 shots he missed before he headshoted he activated his alert trigger or alerted a nearby enemy who was standing near the impact of the missed bullets . Must be something like that because usually when you do a single shot and its a headshot noone will ever notice as long as they dont stand pretty close to each other .Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
