I'm just curious is there any news about the next trials game? I've also read on other threads that there might be a season 2 pass? I love trials and would to have something to look forward to. Any news or opinions on where and what the next trials is and what people would like to see.
Thanks in advance
Seeing how Evo & Fusion Got announced about a year before launch at E3 I'd expect a new game to be announced for this next E3 if the pattern followed remains the same.
The Fusion announce trailer was a big difference from the actual game, even while the last DLC FMX track came the closest so far. So if there's a new trailer, hope it's more actual gameplay from the start, teasers are not really a good way in my book (*cough* DOOM)
Evo : Announced E3 2011 - released 2012
Fusion: Announced E3 2013 - Released 2014
???: Anounced E3 2015 - Released 2016
I don't dislike fusion, it's a great game and the "after the incident" DLC is likely to be a sort of prequel to Frontier I just rather have a new game Fully made for current gen (sorry 360) over another 6 DLC.
I'd love to see a new type of engine with new features like terrain/object painting, polygon terrain editing, maybe object crafting as well.
And as far as gameplay goes, tire glitching is a big issue which need a vast improvement and is one of the reasons I'd rather see a new game with new themes/new bikes/new game engine with multiplayer from launch.
I know Fusion is not "done" in terms of updates but 2016 is still really far away anyhow.
Coffin runs are to date still the cause of leaderboard issues 11 months after launch so leaderboards need to be far more solid from launch on out.
Thanks for your reply TeriXeri when u mention frontier u mean the mobile game right? I personally don't like frontier I only played it to get the outfit for fusion. I also agree that coffin runs are **** but that's lies with the devolopers if it's not an fmx track u shouldn't be able to do tricks just like in the editor you can turn the option off which I do for all my tracks. I can't wait to get an xone maybe il hit the lottery lol.
Well I mentioned Frontier as it's like the aftermath of Fusion's storyline (after some apocalyptic event destroyed most of the civilization)Originally Posted by aMcConghie16 Go to original post
As far as gameplay it's too diffrent to call it part of the main Trials series it's a Spin-Off mobile game.
Since Zudina (DLC 4 & Frontier Bunker) is in both games it confirms it even more the story is linked some way.
Step in the light is also some time-machine type feature, whichs allows you to unlock a costume if you link both games by playing 3 of the same tracks in both games.
Fusion's Storyline is quite interesting if you sum it up, altho I did really miss the voices/explanation in the 5th DLC, 4th DLC had those secret audio tapes & Zudina quotes.
Hope the 6th DLC will include the last bits of storyline to conclude Fusion.
It really annoys me when I can't perform an FMX trick for what amounts to, for me, no good reason. The coffin exploit, while not completely cleaned up, no longer works. When you disable FMX just to disable FMX, it's like you are telling me how I should play which goes against why I play Trials in the first place. It's like if I made you restart at the beginning of a track for doing a backflip for the simple reason that I don't like backflips.
Which is why FMX should have just never existed in the first place. It was just a disaster from a conceptual standpoint all the way to implementation.Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
But FMX tricks are for FMX only correct? Why would they be enabled on base tracks when they would serve no purpose for speedrunning/passing a track within the time/fault limits? A backflip is NOT the same as FMX, nor a front flip. They both can be used, in the right place at the right time, to maintain the highest speed possible for an obstacle, or checkpoint to checkpoint. You don't see it often, but trust me when i tell you, its there. If you're talking about leaving it in for replay purposes then i understand. I don't think anybody would have minded if the coffin glitch worked as intended WITHOUT boosting speed in mid-air, but now because people have exploited it, the leaderboards is a mess with what deleting and recalculating all runs not syncing up properly. Not placing blame, but this was the result of RL's inability to notice that simply doing a coffin run in mid-air boosts your speed before the game launched.Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
Edit- just to clarify, i am not for nor am i against fmx, but its own purpose is really best served where it belongs- a separate gamemode, with separate leaderboards. Might want to play that safe for the next Trials.![]()
Apparently I, as a singular human being, am not allowed to like or dislike something without every facet of any RedLynx title being "used against me".
I like doing FMX tricks. I like doing them in the career tracks so that when my friends watch my replays of me beating their times, it's like a "Hey, I went faster than you, and I did a proud hero over that gap you can't clear". I like doing them in custom tracks. If you don't let me "just because" then I don't like your track as much. /end
This is why we can't have nice things.
You do realize that you just contradicted yourself, right?Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
People should not tell you how to play Trials, then you complain about how others play Trials by disabling FMX.
This is why we can't have nice games.
I honestly see the issues being discussed here as more of an implementation problem than a concept issue. The idea of being able to do FMX in any track is fine, provided it doesn't affect the physics with regards to speedrunning a track in anyway. The coffin runs being removed after it being fixed is an issue not because of the coffin runs in the first place but by RL not fixing glitched scores. And non-legit times on tracks could also be the work of hackers etc. so why blame fmx
I do take issue with this though..
Isn't FMX disabled by default in custom tracks? Because I swear most of the time its disabled, and I don't see why a track should be liked any less for it. Keep in mind creators care about the whole track experience and not tricks. If I were a creator and saw track leaderboards getting broken because of coffin runs, I'd probably err on the side of caution and disable it as well.Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
To repeat: if none of the FMX exploits occurred OR leaderboards auto-recalculated when a run gets removed, this wouldn't be an issue at all.
