[spoiler] Taking fortress at kings bridge

Hi all I hope I get good response from you veterans like before. My question is after taking control of my first Fortress, going into the safe house doing the hostage rescue for guy in there, getting credit in stats for taking my first Fortress. Why is it that when I try to return it's not only doing the howitzer BS and the sniper there again, but it tells me I am going out of bounds when I attempt to cross bridge after dealing with the bad guys out front again. Is this a normal occurrence is it supposed to Re spawn? Your comments will be very helpful, thank you,
    Tony

It appears to be a case of you going to Kings bridge prior to the story mission "Key to the North". Kings bridge location has nothing to do with any of the 2 southern fortresses being captured, or not.

    This help any?

^LOL, yep, there is no fortress at King's Bridge, making your thread title rather misleading.

Let's just say it's not a fortress, but very big and heavily fortified roadblock.
The thing is, its gates are too strong to be blown by any kind of regular explosives or be rammed by most heavy vehicle...

You will need some external help to provide you with special means to demolish the gate, but, as it was said in one of previous comments, it will happen only in particular campaign mission.

You have only 4 fortresses in the game, and they are marked by this icon:

Unliberated fortress icon will also have a distinct color and a capital "D", "N", "Y" or "P" inside, referring to fort's "owner".
