    FC4 doesn't like DSR

Has anyone gotten DSR to work with this game? My resolution is 1920x1080. When I enable DSR and set it to 1.78x (2560x1440) and start up Far Cry 4 everything is zoomed in and I cannot find the settings to change the resolution.

Every other game works fine with DSR except for Far Cry 4 which does this. How it usually works is I set 1.78x my resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel and start up the game I want to play. And from the game's settings I choose 1440p and DSR will scale the game back down to my resolution while rendering the game in 1440p.

Far Cry 4 just seems to automatically render the game in 1440p and thus making it unplayable since everything is off-screen. Does anyone else have this problem and have maybe found a fix for it?

It works for me with a Reference 290X. AMD calls it VSR. As I recall at 1440 and I think 1800, I found the frame rate drop not worth the increased resolution on my Samsung 40" HDTV.

The thing is I don't want to have to continuously go into the Nvidia Control Panel to disable it when i want to play FC4. It's not that I even want to play it at 1440p, but the game does this stupid zoom thing whenever I have it enabled.

I forgot I even had my VSR enabled. So obviously mine doesn't zoom as I have been playing the game without a problem. My impression is that more folks with Nvidia are having troubles with this game than AMD. And I thought the game was in some ways more optimized for Nvidia. It seems you can't win for losing!

I asked for some help on the Geforce forums as well and not a single reply... Looks like I'll have to figure it out myself. Thanks for replying at least.

DSR works in Far Cry 4 too, but like OP wrote it can fail to downsample it on your screen.
If this happens try the ALT-RETURN combination to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode.
It might take a few tries sometimes and be sure to check the game settings after each attempt too to make sure that the correct settings are being used.

    Works for me.

Got DSR to work in Far Cry 4. Used the downloaded app. "GeForce Experience" from Nvidia. Using a GTX970 which really made a difference. Believe me, I'm no expert, but these forums have helped me a ton, so maybe this will help you. Good Luck

You don't need Gefore Experience to get DSR to work. Just be sure to enable DSR in the global drivers settings in the Nvidia Control Panel.
In the game be sure to use fullscreen. DSR does NOT work while using Borderless window mode.

You were onto something there. Turns out the game refused to run in fullscreen. It stayed in borderless mode despite me changing it to fullscreen in the graphics settings.
I went into the GamerProfile.xml (edit with Notepad++) and changed Borderless from "1" to "0" so now DSR works just fine and I can even set it to 4K.

Now I just need to figure out how to get the game to work with EVGA Precision...
