Underlining only those parts didn't change the point. You said a forum is a place to post opinions - your dispute with Camzarcar over whether those opinions are open to disagreement was of no consequence to what I was saying, so I didn't underline it and either way it doesn't undermine my point anyway.Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
Why not post? It's a public forum, there's a bunch of people I know on here and I might feel like letting them know that I think something is garbage - and whether you like it or not, it is a way of initiating conversation.Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think those "forum rules" (that clearly say all posts must be constructive) were written exclusively for this thread or even for feedback threads in general.Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
But what if those members are chatting but not being constructive, which would go against forum rules?Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post

Just so everyone is clear - that means you can be banned from this forum if Shifty himself doesn't deem your posts constructive enough.
Good luck out there.
If you want to post and it goes against the rules, you should expect infractions.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ Go to original post
This thread is clearly the issue at hand as it's the whole basis for this conversation.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ Go to original post
I'm sure you see the difference.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ Go to original post
If you accrue enough infractions, yes. I didn't think that my enforcing the rules wasn't clear. If I find your posts to go contrary to the rules I can issue infractions. If you get enough infraction you can be suspended or banned.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ Go to original post
Quite honestly, you can twist what I say to fit whatever you want, you're a smart cookie, but the rules of the forum, and my efforts to enforce them, are not really open to debate. This is the end of that discussion. Further efforts to undermine my authority and/or ability to do my job on the forums. or elsewhere, or that of other RedLynx or Ubisoft staff, will be met with infractions as per the forum rules.
I have a question: Why after 11 months is the "post must contain constructive criticism" rule now being shoved down our throats?
Is the stress finally getting to the mods?
Maybe the higher-ups are tired of their game getting bashed and sent down the order to enforce this rule now?
Possibly UbiLynx don't know how to fix their game, and need our feedback more than ever?
The community is more divided than ever, a Trials developer rage-quit the forums after insulting most of the community... Now might now be the ideal time to rule with an iron fist.
BTW, here's some constructive criticism: You should just put a link to the forum rules in your signature, it would save you a lot of time since you include a link to the rules in half your posts.
Easy sheriff, I wasn't undermining your ability to carry out those infractions / bans, I get that your word is final, that's all great.Originally Posted by RoguishRonin Go to original post
Reason I posted all that, is because having a rule that forces us to be "constructive" in every post is absurd.. and you suddenly threatening to enforce that rule is frankly laughable. (Again, not undermining or saying you couldn't enforce the rule, I'm sure you could - just that the rule itself is borderline hilarious).
And as Mr Awesome just said, I'm pretty sure not so long ago we were privileged enough to use the forum without strict instructions to explain our opinions in every post - so what changed recently?
