Those QTEs,though they're terrible and had NO VARIETY,they're a change of pace for me and I wanted them in FC4. But so far there none. Then I saw this trailer of FC4 where there's actually one:
Then I realized it was CGI,but to show a knife one vs one fight might mean that there's one. Which I'm looking for. Maybe against the guy spreading those demon Masks of Yalung? Or against Pagan?
I wish my PC version looked as good as that trailer.
I haven't seen anything in the game (after 2 playthroughs) that resembled anything that happened in that trailer.
The knife fight looks like it takes place in the arena. I haven't played all the arena missions because quite frankly they make the boring qte events in fc3 seem like good fun. So Maybe you do get a knife fight in the arena but somehow I doubt it. What I've seen of it so far it just seems to use the same combat mechanics as the rest of the game so the only time you get to use a knife is on a takedown.
No other knife fights in the rest of the game. There is one mission where you are in a drugged up state and hallucinating where you have to do a takedown on the main enemy but I wwoulkdnt describe it as a knife fight.
Just another one of Ubi's misleading, exaggerated trailers.
The closest you'll come to that kind of knife fighting is those goons in red clothing with blades poised above their head that just come running at you predictably and are an easy one hit kill if you slash before they do. This happens both in and out of the arena, it's just that in the arena you're more likely to knife them to retain stealth and/or save ammo.
Other than that, there's the knife throw takedown, which is kind of nice. You can catch an unsuspecting enemy either from front or behind with a takedown, and as a momentary prompt comes onscreen, throw his knife at a nearby opponent in the direction you're looking for a double kill. You can even turn your takedown victim slightly to line up a shot if there's no one else in front of you.
There really are no knife slashing duels as shown in the trailer though, but thankfully also no QTE duels ala Far Cry 3. Despite arena not playing as good as it shows there though, it's quite fun. It has a bit of a Hunger Games feel in that if you impress the fans, they will throw things you can pick up and use. Each round also gets harder as you go, but you can use strategy a lot, including stealth.
Wow wish the game was as good as the trailer... The answer to your question in the title is => Too many people complained about the knife boss battles from FC3, so UBI pulled it down as per their request...Originally Posted by Defalt221 Go to original post
