    Failed to start game (app already running)

    Hi
    Please can someone help.
    I downloaded FC4 from Steam and played for a couple of days and got very excited as it look excellent.

    Now when i start it either from desk top icon or from Steam i get the black box with my lic code and the play button.(the same as always and with FC3) so Ok so far.

    Then it comes up with the Message
    ""Failed to Start Game (App Already Running)"".

    I have searched google and Youtube for fix and done all-

    It does not show the game running in Task Manager, does show UBI and Steam-stopped them but still the same.
    I Deleted Steam and reloaded and then reloaded the game. still the same.....
    Used Process Manager dwnload thing- Does not show as running there-Still the same.

    If i click on UPLAY icon i get similar meaasge. ""Need to close existing running version of UPLAY""- close in Task manager-Still the same.

    Tryed to contact STEAM help but its SHYT.......

    PLEASE CAN SOME ONE HELP O HAVE I BEEN RIPPED OFF BY STEAM???????

    dunno if this is your problem but there was a failed update yesterday to the u play service

    you may need to follow the steps indicated in this thread to fix it

    look for the post by Ubi-Cain as he describes how to fix the u play client

    it should be at the top of this link

    if you still experience connection issues try flushing your dns

    if after all that it fails try to verify your game files
