I'd love to know why they advertise a 55% discount off the £14.99 price and then try to charge £7.99? If you take £14.99 and apply a 55% discount, the price should be £6.74.
I think that they are trying to trick people into thinking they getting a better deal then they really are. This is really shady behavior and I'm pretty sure that it qualifies as false advertising under UK law.

More over, if you take original price for just buying coins and gems, you'll see that £14.99 is way overpriced.
In the US, its called "55% off" with original price of $19.99, and new price of $9.99 (ie its really 50% off).
Cost of 200 gems: $4.99
Cost of 750K coin: $19.99
So.... $25 dollars separately, selling for $9.99 (ie its really 60% off). And you get extra coins, and the outfit+bonus item. If you tried to extrapolate the price per 600K versus 750K you'll get a fair bit closer to 55%, but really.... dont care.
Their math sucks, no doubt... and frankly I dont consider anything above as a bargain under any circumstances. . . but if you are into this kind of thing then you'll get it just because you can.
iviark, I thought you were right, but I did some calculations about the average price of a coin to work out the "price" of 600,000 and it's £12.35.
Add this to £3.99 for the gems and the total is £16.34....... of course, if you take 55% off this, it comes to £7.35
So, they are still ripping us off.......

The rest 64 cents - the price of the unique outfit. Good bargainOriginally Posted by Tendee Go to original post![]()
Are these bundles ever available at their 'original' price? I've never seen one without its discount.
No, they just put the "original price" there to make people think that it's a good deal, which is effectively paying £8 for a costume and a skin, which I find a waste.Originally Posted by timohthey Go to original post
Right, so what's the point in this? The numbers might not add up, but does that really matter? You could message all the devs to complain that the bundle is false advertising, and do you know what would happen? They would either drop the discount percentage so it falls in line with the price, or increase the original price so the discount percentage makes sense. What they will never do is reduce the actual cost of the bundle so that the discount makes sense. You're not getting ripped off because the bundle will never cost anything else.
The discount and original price might as well be snazzy graphics that they added to make the offer look nice. They might as well not even be related, because they have nothing to do with the price of anything. When a bundle come up I don't weigh up whether to buy it or not based on the discount, I just look at the actual price and use that to make a decision.
On a side note, this reminds me of a crummy Indian takeaway that was near my university. They had a banner outside the shop that read "half price 7 days a week"...
Because there are laws against false advertisement. And rules for the Apple Store against false advertisement.Originally Posted by timohthey Go to original post
What B8ZZ brought up is the truly shady thing. They advertise these packages as a sale when they were never available at the initial price. That's a form of false advertisement as well.
