    There's nothing suspicious about that, same old story - Ubi's servers are bugged again and messing with people's saves... Turn the damn cloud sync OFF and backup your saves manually! Period. You don't want to rely on that thing in any circumstances...

    I turned cloud sync OFF and backup-ed my saves manually since I bought Far Cry 3 and my progress is saved without any issues... In addition I can replay my games from ANY point and also don't lose the entire progress if the save becomes corrupted... And that can happen to anyone anytime due to many reasons...

    its back to normal again and the cloud does work again for anyone thats still using the cloud.

    back in my day (I'm 33) dynamic crashes was typical in many games. Pretty sad that a game suffers from Dynamic crashes today seeings how new the software should be by now.... but.......... same here. For The Fractured But Whole it will not sync my saves its just so dumb. Nobody asked for Ubisoft's Uplay in the first place so why did they make it? Steam I never have issues on, for syncing files to and from the cloud.

    So it would have been better if Ubisoft left all the syncing to Steam. Ubisoft is a slowly dying company I think... because they anger so many customers. If it is a Ubisoft game, you can bet it is going to have Uplay the software nobody asked for!!!

    Now I have to figure out how to fix issues on Steam (if I have any) and Uplay, AND Origins. I wish there was a universal client out there.... like Pigeon for Linux can do Yahoo messenger, Google Talk, Facebook chat....

    or like VLC player can pretty much play every music file in the world... pretty much.

    we need a Universal game client to end this madness...

    there is a universal game client with all Ubi games .. its called Uplay

    if you have an issue withe the cloud save system shut it off ..

    and do manual saves on your own system

    and no you an not make a save MID mission

    you need to complete the mission ..or select abandon it if you do not have time to complete it

    Far Cry 3 worked the same way

    remember Uplay not steam is the default DRM on this game on PC

    Steps to try \ Win 10




    1) open task manager, (Win key + X) find the following process: UbisoftGameLauncher.exe, and end the process.


    2) After that, go to add \ remove programs in your windows control panel


    (press win key + X select apps and features .. look on the right side and select Programs and features) .


    select uninstall UPlay and then exit once its done


    3) Download and reinstall Uplay PC from https://uplay.ubi.com , as this will update the client to the latest version .


    4) Launch the game again.


    If you are still having issues , please go to the Support site for your region and open a support ticket, try webchat or
    initiate a phone call direct to support (if available for your region )

    they sell more copes OF the game then Steam sells that do not even require STEAM NOR ITS ADDED DRM

    EXAMPLE

    1.if you buy the DVD version of the game it has 1 DRM ... UPLAY... no Steam involved


    2.if you buy the game on AMAZON it has 1 DRM ... UPLAY.... no Steam involved


    3.if you buy it direct from UBISOFT it has 1 DRM .. UPLAY ...no Steam involved


    4.if you buy the game on greenman gameing it has 1 DRM .. UPLAY ....no Steam involved


    5.if you buy the game on get games go it has 1 DRM ... UPLAY .. no Steam involved


    6.if you buy the game on newegg it has 1 DRM ..UPLAY ...no Steam invloved


    7.if you buy the game on gamers gate it has 1 DRM ... Uplay ...no Steam involved


    if you buy it on Steam your forced into..2 DRM's - Steam + Uplay as your DRM's as both clients must be open to run the game
    like it or not they will continue to use Uplay to distribute their games with as it is the default Digital platfom used on Ubisoft "Developed" titles


    valve charges a publisher for every thing sold over Steam a % of each sale so thats why they use UPLAY

    it enables them to sell the games at more sites across the internet ..IF YOU SCREWED UP YOUR SETTINGS THATS A USER ISSUE

Now, if the number in the file's name is different from "1", rename it to "1". Sometimes there is a *.save.temp file, you can use it, just rename it to 1.save.

    4. Load the game, and see if it's fixed. If it didn't work, exit the game, restore the content of FC4 saves folder from the backup you made in step 2, and try to use different save file as described in step 3.

    In the future I recommend to turn cloud synchronization off permanently and instead regularly backup your saves as described in my guide.
    If you do so you can always roll back to one of your older saves that wasn't corrupt without losing the entire progress...

    There is also a possibility to recover some of your older saves through general system restore to a previous restore point.

    If every attempt to restore any of your own working saves failed, you can also take one of my saves (I have more than 100 saves along the game). The last one is at 87%, 3 campaign missions left, 1 outpost and 1 fortress left to liberate, 2 Shangri-La missions and Yak farm.
