City of Pain-mission, photograph hostages, can't take pictures

So I'm stuck on City of Pain-mission. It's the mission where you have to infiltrate Paul's party and photograph prisoners in three different locations.
Game says that I should use the camera, I use it by pressing Z, but where ever I aim with the camera, the "Take picture"-text doesn't appear and so I can't take the pictures.
    I watched a youtube-video of the mission and I'm 100% certain I'm on a right spot.

The game is up to date and my Nvidia display drivers are the latest.

    Any suggestions?

its a weird bug that some times happens i had it happen in one of the willis missions ..to fix it i simply had to pick up the guys body and move it .. then it let me take the picture ...took two or three times of moving him and dropping him to the proper place

yes i understand the mission you mean and thats not an option (moving the body ) ..all you can really do is try zooming your camera in and out from different positions and see if it will allow you to take the photo using your mouse 1 key ( i have my keys set to default and use a keyboard and mouse)

    or

hit escape click abandon mission start the mission all over again and hope when the mission restarts it goes normally with your camera working properly

Oh, I had to free those hostages, not take pictures. Maybe it is a difficulty setting related thing?

The city of pain mission is different depending on whom you are allowing to lead the golden path AMITA or SABAL depending on who you pick you get different missions in the game

Of course, didn't think of that. Damn that "take pictures" version looked easy.

Well, I verified my game files. I then tried the mission again. Did not work. I even tried different resolutions, graphic options, windowed mode and using a game controller, but nothing seems to work. Not changing positions, not zooming in and out. Nothing.
It seems that the only way to continue this game would be to start over and not select Amita for mission types. Bleh.

    camera can't take a picture
    PC - windows 7

I was doing to mission where I had to photograph the 3 interrogation chambers and kidnap Depleaur and when I went to photograph the rooms I raised the camera and the shutter didn't work. It didn't say "take picture" and there was no click and no progress.

I restarted the mission a few times. I tried standing in different places. I changed the order of prisoners. The internet said farcry 3 and 4 had a bug where some could not call up the camera or throw stones and the fix was restarting the entire game.

I could call up the camera but not click and no "take picture". I assumed that some pre-condition was not happening properly but what finally resolved it was I reset every single option back to default. The game stuff, interface, video, etc. Can't say exactly which was the offending setting and didn't care to research but there you go.

    I had changed:

    --changed resolution
    --removed minimap
    --turned all tagging off
    --turned off loot animation
--Set to fullscreen rather than windowed,
and a couple of others. It makes sense it could have been tied to the tagging function.

    I hope this helps someone.

    It's the Camera Tagging option.

Go to options > Gameplay(Campaign) > and scroll down to camera tagging and turn it to ON.

I'm guessing, like me, you turned it off with everything else.

Absolutely raging at this mission! Reset everything to default as our man Peter suggested. Went back to double check the offending option and it turned out to be Camera Tagging. A logical assumption I only realised after turning on and off each option individually, starting with the Interface options...
