How to dodge having your fuel reset by Slots | Forums

Figured I'd mention this as it's something I've been worrying about happening and I imagine a couple of guys here have been too (I'm looking at you, Xitooner!)

As we know, with fuel being giftable we can now exceed our limit. I'm on 264/60 at the moment. A few of us have noticed that if you manage to get the fuel bonus from Slots that all your excess fuel goes away and you go back to your normal maximum, which in my case would be 60/60.

I just played the Slots and "won" the fuel bonus. I panicked and double tapped the home button and closed the app down. When I went back in I wasn't allowed to respin the Slots but I did still have all my extra fuel!

So, force close the app just as the fuel bonus appears. You'll lose the prizes on that spin but you'll retain all your extra fuel.

Interesting discovery! (I am now at 2672/139 fuel, by the way!)

For the record, I am mostly doing it because I find it amusing; I dont really need fuel or the slots anymore now that everything is upgraded. I am curious to see how high I can get it though; I want to see if I can push that fuel-meter peice off the screen (I now have to move the screen to see it; its above the normal window you get when first visting the village).

But if you can, please make use of your fuel soon because surely this is just a temporary bug to be elimianted in the next update; I really doubt they intend to let us collect fuel beyond the normal limits....

Good to know! I've had my fuel slashed by a hundred or so when the fuel bonus has come up on the slots. Unless I get a huge experience bonus with some fuel, I'll just shut the app down from now on.

for the life of mine, dear forumengers, can you please explain to me, what good is this "gifted" fuel? what do you do with it? apart form obvious hopeless hoarders like xitooner what do you need it for? vast majority here have 80+ or 100+ tanks, that is sufficient! (casually dressed, what happened to your 60 tank? )

my real belief is that fuel gifting was implemented to distract our attention form lowering the ticket gifting limit to 3/3, and so that we don't cry and whine too loud, they gave us something else to "gift", something free and totally useless, only to make us go back into the app even more times! of course, why would anyone think to mark push messages "ticket/fuel"? no, you will need to unlock phone -> enter your pin -> load app -> click the gift box -> oh, it's fuel! well, thank you, my generous friend-giver, i really needed that 151st fuel unit!

I nearly never get the +1 tank on the Slots, and I've not sunk any gems into buying tank upgrades. Gems have gone on costumes (got them all now) and respins when farming for parts (doing the final upgrades to my Phantom now, so won't be respinning any more).

All gems I get from now on will probably be hoarded in anticipation for another Island-like situation.

Well Mr.Grumpypants, lemme lay it on ya. I am really digging the new system. I need that extra fuel to grind for extra parts and I can use it in tandem with my stockpile of magnets I win on the slot wheel pretty much daily. I can rake in an extra 30k minimum daily now from one or two grindsessions. I can also pop in out of the app in 2 seconds to collect the tickets, fuel and most importantly the 1000 coin bonus. Now it refreshes as soon as someone gifts to me, so I can collect while I play too. I must have got at least 60k today from that alone. If you already upgraded your bikes, yeah, it's pretty useless compared to having extra tickets, so you do have a very valid point from that perspective. For me though, my speed bikes are weak sauce on a soggy taco and I need those level 5 parts to catch up to be competitive on showdowns. The gifting system is fast and efficient now. I love it.

I imagine that, before you've maxed all your bikes, the extra fuel might come in handy while farming for parts. I know I used to breeze through my 110 fuel really quickly. Extra fuel here and there would make a difference.

Hmm, seems there's a problem with my plan.

After closing the app to dodge the fuel reset, I've gone back to the Slots 4 times and all 4 times have been identical prizes. Small XP / small XP / small XP / 2 x fuel. Seems that if you close the app you're still stuck with the same prize. You get a different challenge, but the same prize.

I'm hoping that after this 24hr run finishes the prize will refresh, otherwise I've no choice but to either stop playing Slots or lose my excess fuel.
