    Game now unplayable

Up until the last three days, the game has worked perfectly for me. I am 93% complete in the campaign and am now just running about collecting letters and loot etc.

However, I now can no longer save my progress. When I press "esc" and click on 'save" or "save and quit", the save icon comes up as normal and goes away after 2-3 seconds. The cursor disappears and the game freezes. The animation in the background of the screen continues, as does the sound. Nothing works - including the "esc" key. I have to alt-F4 to get back to the Uplay page. When I restart the game, none of the progress I made during the last session has been saved.

Another problem is that, everytime I get killed in Escape from Durgesh, the game freezes. Once again, none of the progress is saved.

I have tried everything I have seen on the internet in an attempt to cure this (apparently common) problem. I have gone so far as to reinstall the game.

Anyone got any hints? I am not all that that computer savvy, so keep it simple.

Really, this should not be happening. The game was not cheap and there was a lot of hyperbole surrounding the launch. Once again, the reality does not live up to the hype - and neither does Ubisoft's reputation - but, what the hell, as long as there is a buck to be made, hey?
