You still have to wait that long?
Damn, get your elo below 1800 maybe, I don't know
I have had a couple waits of over 2 minutes in the last month, but most wait times are under 30s. Of course I've let my elo drift with whatever crap deck I'm playing at the moment, so I bounce between 1400s and 1700s depending on what dailies I wind up with![]()
Then you'd have one dragon crystal.Originally Posted by malkorion Go to original post
Why is this thread even necessary, look at this and tell me that this is not dead. The game was dead in March of last year, R.I.P. If only idiots didn't run this game; it easily had the most potential of all CCG's and look where it is now.

Wow! According to those stats 50% of players left before BS2 even came out....Originally Posted by UnklRukusNoRltn Go to original post
(if I remember correctly BS2 was Feb or March 2014?)
I suspect it is also due to the fact that Hearthstone came out of Beta in March 2014 so a lot players jumped ship to a less complex, more casual game under the Blizzard name.Originally Posted by Stoneofhelp Go to original post
Steam chart obviously doesn't give the full picture. If you look at the other two popular card games on Steam, namely Solforge and Infinity Wars then they do not fare any better than MMDOC in terms of Steam player base, but they are also far from being dead.

I was a Hearthstone player since beta, taking a few in between hiatuses but the reason I leave that game has always been the same. The game is far too simple and the way it is designed and the tools given to certain aggro classes is so ridiculous that I just can't handle Blizzard's logic anymore. Every season I play the game I reach legend (something like 7 times legend, didn't play the game for 3 or 4 months), and I've played through many metas from the early freeze mage dominance through miracle rogue, sunshine hunter etc. And I can tell you with certainty that a person who literally doesn't understand anything about the game can reach legend, honestly (you can literally win >50% of your games literally not playing around ANYTHING and just going straight face aggro, lol). I was a big fan and player of miracle rogue back then.Originally Posted by spyritwind Go to original post
I've just started playing this game about a week and a half ago (I didn't even know this game existed until then) and I'm enjoying it so much more than I did hearthstone. The depth and complexity of the game is awesome, and the fact that there are so many different tools to play around with is fun. I can't comment on how balanced or varied the meta is, but from what I see, it seems okay. I can see opinions of inferno being op etc. etc. yet there are posts of other really fun looking and strong decks which are clearly very consistent and viable, e.g. nahla timelock, cassandra barracks (which IMO is pretty OP lol).
I actually finally decided to completely give up on hearthstone and only then did I find this hidden gem in an article written somewhere. IMO DoC could definitely do with some advertising to make players aware that there's a really fun TCG other than the popular ones (magic, HS) that actually has some pretty fun mechanics and potentially deep strategy, but of course I'm completely aware that's a very expensive investment that the developers have to risk and us as the community have to show our support and enjoyment of the game.
Anyway, it's simple, brainless games which attracts the masses since the less complex the game the more accessible it is to idiots who aren't willing to use 5% of their brainpower to play a strategy game, and rather play mindless casual games (just look at LoL vs DotA). Whether this game dies or is dying IMO is up to the developers to keep up their updates and communicating with players. I hope it doesn't, because I'm having a lot of fun and especially with ToR announced there is probably plenty more content to enjoy for some time to come.
This is a free to play game, I don't think steam is the best way to measure with.
I would guess that only 20-30% o the players play DoC via steam.
There was some weeks some time ago when the wait was at an average of 1-2 min, but now I down to less than 30 sec again, often even a few sec.
And I have pretty high ELO around 1700-1850.
This^. DoC has it's own client, those numbers only show how many are playing through steam.Originally Posted by KeyserSoeze Go to original post
We also have DoC on iPad, and on console, not just on Steam, plus it has a standalone client.Originally Posted by KeyserSoeze Go to original post
