People need to LEARN to wait for Reviews before jumping head first into these Updates, more so if your game is working, even mediocre, the alternative is even worse.
Yes, I know and I understand they should work since we can only imagine they are beta tested before launch but again, we are talking about UBI here so it is to be expected, otherwise, the game would have come pretty finished to begin with.
Even if you updated your audio and video drivers recently, go ahead and do it again, more than likely they got corrupted when you installed the update. That or check your files with Uplay, there may be some corruption as well. Other than that, Good Luck
UBI would be smart to STICKY something like this to avoid multiple threads about the same thing... or are the Moderators NOT annoyed enough by it?![]()

Installing a game update does NOT corrupt a hardware driver.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
You would think that right? then again... this is UBI.Originally Posted by knerlington Go to original post
And even if what you say is true... I have my games change from night to day when I did that. Besides... it only cost me less than 20 minutes of my time and I was back playing so... what do you have to offer (for a solution) aside from criticizing what I said?![]()
Well for one if it changed after you having re-installed them something else was wrong. You wrote "games" indicating that this was a global issue on your end. The game does not alter DLL-files that make up your drivers. My offer here is assuring fact that shoots down your theory. If a new game update makes the game run worse it's because of the change in the game related files. Not your drivers.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
If it happens after a game update my advice is to reset the game settings completely by letting the game itself rebuild the file containing the settings. I.E. remove the settings file and start the game. Worked for me after last nights patch.
Also. Telling consumers it's their own fault for having updated the game is not very helpful is it? You need to stop making it sound as if it's our own fault for letting the game auto-update itself. Do we really need to start reviewing patches and look for potential issues that arrives with them? Wasting even more of our time and energy?
In many cases of game crushing after new update it appeared to be due to incorrect installation of the update and hence the problem was solved by verifying game files*...
*For Uplay version - in the left panel of the game (first you have to click on GAMES in the top left corner, then on "FarCry4"), there is a drop-down menu next to "PLAY" button.
For Steam version - open your library -> right click on FarCry4 -> Properties -> Local files -> Verify integrity of game cache.
