    Loading time after death

    Hi guys,
I was wondering why the game takes so long to load after Ajay's deaths. In fact everything loads correctly and fast (the game is on a SSD - fast travel and mission loading are OK) but if I die the progress bar will stay at about 75% during 10 or 15 seconds then it will load. Overall it takes about 15 seconds or more to load in this case. I've seen a similar topic on this forum but no answer was given.
Any idea ? What would cause this "issue" ?
    Thank you !

Good question indeed and one that I have never found and answer to it. Only thing I can tell you is that with each update I have noticed that, most of the time, loading time after death takes a long time... I don't recall this happening when in version 1.0 or 1.3

There is a realy weird bug that loading times take ages after you died when you did the first propaganda center . Just do the second propaganda center and the loading times are normal again . Not sure if thats the solution for you tho .

I'll give it a try to see what happens :-)

Well it seems that it did the trick ! I did the second propaganda center. After thatI killed myself several times (or the enemy did) and loading times were normal... I'll come back to you if the problem comes back but I think it's okay now.

The only thing I can figure is it's caching progress up to that point, then erasing it to the point of the last checkpoint when you die, and horribly slow (and sometimes inconsistent) at doing so. Given what's been researched, I would guess a lot of the slowness and inconsistency has to do with the fact that this game is one of the worst ever benched at producing page faults.

There are some engines that struggle with efficient streaming and caching of assets, such as UE, and Dunia, but you add tons of page faults to that, and this kind of stuff can happen. In games with tons of scripts and assets and a large and very detailed world such as this one has, efficient handling of assets is of the utmost importance.

Sometimes such things are caused by the devs pushing the limitations of the engine with the complexity of the game it runs. Sometimes it's an inadequacy in the engine itself. Perhaps a bit of both. I get the feeling though that if they can improve the efficiency of the engine and/or find out and fix what's causing all those page faults, it will be a dramatic improvement.

Dunia 2 Engine was on the limit with far cry 3 , with far cry 4 the dunia 2 engine is completly overcharged . If you ask me they should have made a new engine for far cry 4 anyways , dunia 2 is a peace of crap engine even if it looks decent . Physics Engine is ridicolous and even not worth called physics engine , horrible to no cpu usuage whatsoever exept for 1 core , framedrops , frameskips , a lot of shadow bugs , weak lightning and the input lag from mouse keyboard controlls are way to high compared to other games , but then again , what can you expect from a console based game from ubisoft .... I guess you must be happy if it runs somehow , no matter how ...

I'm not convinced it's just the design of the engine when it comes to multi core usage.. Clearly the next gen consoles are very multi core oriented. I'm sure there's room for improvement with threading efficiency, but clearly they need to port better. They also need to put a lot of work into the save system. Besides not saving progress properly, it tends to bombard you with tons of page faults, and that's never a good thing.

Well there's a strange thing, I've completed the game & reactivated the outposts for the third time without ever seeing that problem, today I swapped the save file using one of the set that someone posted here a while back. I chose to restart from where you attack the bridge to the North & from then on I had the loading slow down when I got killed, i could still fast travel to another location & it would load in a few seconds but when killed it moved 3/4 across & then just hung for 15 seconds

Irrelevant what next gen consoles can do when you use a last gen engine with poor cpu optimization . In fact the dunia 2 engine was already outdated when they released far cry 3 with it and the engine showed it´s enough of its weak points there already but with far cry 4 the dunia engine has just been taken over it´s limits . But then again , all developers are aiming for are 30 fps on the consoles and that the game runs / works on pc , no matter how ....

Does this savegame got the first propaganda center made done ? Because of the long loading time bug i describet up there ?
