I thought Far Cry 4 was miles better.....Originally Posted by Prince_Of_Persia Go to original post
technically....FAR CRY 4 is better. More features....more abilities....CO-OP is awesome....BUT separating the himalaya world from the Kyrat world was a really bad idea. In an open world, when we are force to be teleported instead of being able to reach by our self a destination....it kinda put a cold shower on the immertion.
In FAR CRY 5...please make a big open world....like GTA 5 or like it was in FAR CRY 3
^ Realistically, there would only be so many missions, people, or things to explore in the Himalayas. It's not the kind of place you just go gallivanting around on a whim. Many rich people in real life whom have done so without properly preparing have paid the price with their lives. The saddest thing is, many Sherpas whom have guided them have too.
The Himalayas are already exploited enough in the real world. I feel Ubi handled it's presence in the game just fine. And from a technical standpoint, to put all the areas in between the lower regions and the Himalayas themselves would add a ton of textures, and even more impact on performance, esp if you expect no teleporting.
I thought I was going to love the amazing graphics and all the new combat options in FC4 but the whole game flew by in a hollow blur. I had no real interest in repeating any side mission type and the story was completely forgettable.
i think it is because in FC4 all the movement and combat options feel as though they are on rails, rather than to do with my interaction. The exception is swinging on the grapple, but you hardly ever had to do this, and even if you appeared to get it wrong, you'd magically grab a rock face or something anyway. I was glad they got rid of FC3‘s awful occasional QuickTime events, but instead the whole gameplay felt somewhat like a QuickTime event.
Also, FC3 had split screen play, better music and better characters in the game. What a shame you can't do the coop split screen in FC4. And what a shame they spurned FC2’s superior multiplayer concepts again.
i wonder if Lost Cause 3 will nail the physics-based mayhem that should have been at the heart of FC4?
I do love the open world feel of both farcry 3 and farcry 4. compared to the old games which were much more linear in nature this does have a lot more play time and diversions.
I just got the Buzzsaw and it feels like the game is over, nothing is hard any more. one shot to take a heavy down... You don't give a damn in you storm in to a camp and they set the alarm off as you just demolish them. It is great fun though.
None of the enemies did anything for me in farcry4, they all seem shallow, I mean why did Pagan save him at the start when he could have just popped a cap in his *** and saved the lives of thousands.
..the grappling hook, you've gotta be joking me... you can throw a grappling hook whilst you're anchored to something, now that's just beyond impossible.
It also seemed to me that sometimes the game would just decide that you've lived long enough and within 20 seconds you'll have a cheetah, eagle, honey badger then have the sounds of your gun attract a heavy who had no business being in the middle of a forest :-P
I loved the hunters though, there were not enough of them in the game. Should of been at least one per camp :-). I did get a little depressed when I couldn't turn a bear or elephant loose in the middle of a compound and watch them all get trampled.
I like both games, I just thought the story and music were better in 3 than 3. The intro music was superb.
I feel completely the opposite. When I play Outposts in Outpost Master the outcome is never the same twice and the same goes for the missions although since I have played the game several times I rarely fail on a mission.Originally Posted by Calisfo Go to original post
I do agree about the animals - there was a Karma event today where a woman was attacked by a Clouded Leopard and a Boar AT THE SAME TIME ! I am no zoologist but I am sure Leopards are solitary hunters and don't gang up with other predators ?![]()
Far Cry 3 had that trippy feel that FC4 just don't have.
I like them both but when I first started FC3 and what welcomed me was quotes from Alice in Wonderland.. I was just amazed. It fitted perfectly with all Definition of insanity thing going on.
That being said... I just love both games.
But Jason is much better than Ajay.
He would have score with Amita for sure![]()
Trouble with FC3 was playing the role of a young and puny dipsh1t. He and his whining pals just weren't believable and I got sick of hearing his juvenile voice. In FC4 you at least have a character with a mental age above 15.
P.S. And anyone who thinks FC2 stinks just ain't doing it right. (Maybe you need Ubi to hold your hand all the way through as in 3 & 4?).
