Severe drop in FPS since end of January patch

Hey guys, I was wondering if I was the only one noticing a drop in Frame per seconds.

bought a good system not so long ago and I was running FC4 on ultra with a GX 970 with a steady 58/60 FPS with a lowest of 45.

I replayed the game ealier today for the first time since a couple of days and it downloaded the latest patch I presume and the first thing I notice is a steady 45 FPS with a down low of 29...

I didnt changed a single options so I would point it on the patch.

    Anyone else?

I just started having the exact same problem. GTX 970, i7 4790k, 8gb of RAM, running at ultra at 1980x1080. formerly stock was 50-60fps and when the GPU was overclocked it ran consistently at 60+ fps. Since the last patch that performance has fallen to 45-30 fps or lower, overclock or not. No other games affected, and vram load is not even 3GB.

The patch seemed to break the Nvidia Soft Shadows setting. Lower it to ultra or very high.

    got exact same issue - running almost everything on Ultra @ 1080p on i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz, 8GB ram, GTX970 - getting 50/60fpx solid... now down by 10-15fps

    thanks for 'fixing' it Ubisoft....

and now without the sarcasm... thx for posting that fix werdsworth

I had noticed the same thing since the latest patch. Setting Shadows to the Ultra setting does the trick. I was afraid Ubisoft had gone and broken the game again but at least this is easily fixable.

Same thing here. Went from 80-90 fps down to 40-60 fps.

GPU MSI GTX 970 Gaming OC @ 1450 MHz and 4000 MHz
    CPU I-5 2500k OC @ 4.5

Changing shadows to ultra fixed it. Back to 80-90 fps. Thanks for the tip. Do you think they'll fix this and let us know?
