Ever since the 1.7.0 38mb patch farcry4 will not save. It acts as if I am in a mission and fast travel and save are disabled. Completing that mission or starting a subsequent mission does not affect this.
Game is unplayable if all progress I make is lost. Can't even manual save.
You don't happen to be on Karma Level 8? I hit an identical bug when I reached karma level 8. I think / hope they are working on it. Hopefully the fix is part of the release that seems to be rolling out todayOriginally Posted by simonmcnair Go to original post![]()
I have exactly the same Problem.
When i want to save the Yellow Marker Apears and Disapears like on a normal Save, but after that the Game is frozen.Task Manager shows it as ACTIVE but inside the Game the Mousecursor disapeared and neither Mouse nor Keyboard or Gamepad will do anything. Its just frozen
Makes the Game unplayable.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall, dont helped.
I uninstalled again, opened regedit, manualy cleaned my registry from any traces of Far Cry 4,then i used "CC Cleaner" to delete all remaining Files.
I Reinstalled and same Problem.
Nothing helps and all was fine until the Patch ;(
I managed to fix this myself. No thanks to Ubisoft.
It seems as if this is related to the ubisoft game launcher cloud replication thingymajig. It had an unmanaged exception a while back and I thought nothing of it until now. Judging by how few other people have had this issue it can't be to do with the patch.
I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\1aeef6a8-5470-4085-9738-29386944d49b\420 and found there was a 5.save.temp file there which was about 75kb and a 5.save file which was zero KB. After deleting the empty5.save, renaming the 5.save.temp to 5.save and also making a copy called 5.save.upload I managed to force the cloud service to upload my new and healthy save game.
All is well with saving...
Now if only I can fix the audio being out of sync with the video then I'll be cooking on gas.
I honestly don't think farcry4 is as good as farcry3. It feels soulless, as if you're just a hired gun/mercenary. At least in farcry 3 you were trying to rescue people who meant something to you and tackled some moral dilemas as well as being a little bit racy and having MUCH better music. Make dem burn and the farcry 3 opening titles are still epic listening material.
Hmm i went to this Savegame Folder too, there is a Cryptic Folder of 1000 Numbers, when i open it i have several Numbered Folders, each of them has "1.sav" or 1.sav.upload or 1.sav.tmp
Save 1 exists several Times in different Numhbered Folders as if 10 different Profiles would have played FC4 on my PC.Many of the Saves have 0 kb.
It looks totaly messed up and i have no Idea what to delete and what not.
I guess i delete Everything since i was just at 5% Game Progression..
delete the .tmp files and rename all the others to be .save. For each of the .tmp files also copy the .save files to .upload.Originally Posted by Weedburner420 Go to original post
The cloud should say that you have a sync error and you can force the local file to be the master.
Yes I did. I actually find it almost rude that support has not yet even sent me a single reply on a ticket I posted on January 28th.I know it is not you. I know Ubisoft probably uses the number of tickets to prioritize which bugs to address. But I think it would have been a lot nicer if they could at least send me a standard reply stating that they use the information to look into the issues but that they do not have time to reply to individual questions or something like that.Originally Posted by UbiDuchess Go to original post
I actually found a workaround on the forums.
1. Disable "save to the cloud" in uplay client
2. Replace the 1 kb. 1.save with an older save or 1.save.tmp if it is reasonably big (mine was about 86 kb). this must be done after 1 and while program is not running. The save folder is placed somewhere like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<a long series of characters>\420
Regards, and thanks for answering questions in here:-)
