What are the "technical limitations" on adding single-lane to the 360? The editor has an option in Track Settings for changing the distance between the lanes, just change the code that sets the minimum of whatever it is now to 0.0 meters. Sure, all bikes will appear on top of each other but that's the whole point isn't it? Would adding a 50% Opacity to the ghosts really kill the hardware? I mean, they aren't even really there to begin with! I say give us the option, then don't include those tracks in the online maps. If it somehow slows down the race, those people can decide privately and the onliners can keep racing standard 4-lanes.
I am out of words. nothing left to say, other than that it doesn't surprise me at all with how things have been going with fusionOriginally Posted by xzamplez Go to original post
I was hoping that them not putting 360 in there was a mistake, you wouldn't expect them to exclude such a huge and anticipated feature from one platform and give it to all the others.Originally Posted by Sandholm Go to original post
Seems really unfair if that is really the case, especially since they never said anything about that untill now.
I agree it's a bit weird to cut (at least partially on 1 platform) features from a game mid-development though.
I can understand their hardware reasoning, but still to the x360 players who paid just as much it's a slap in the face. (I'd be pissed too if I were a 360 player)
I think they had to probably choose not to include 360 at all or partially supporting it (4 lane XSX for example) and that wasn't an easy one.
If Fusion launched 2015/2016, they might have excluded 360 completely but I think since the game got so big on HD/Evo, they decided to keep the 360 in.
And they can't just save resources by cutting FPS to 30 (happens a lot lately on new console games).
Perhaps one of the devs could explain exactly why the 360 isn't getting this feature. You're right TeriXeri, Claudia and Sandholm, considering it's something we all thought we had bought and paid for when we pre-ordered the game, and something that a lot of the 360 forum members had been hoping for, it is a real slap in the face. Whilst you wouldn't expect the 360 game to look exactly the same as their next gen counterparts, you'd at least expect that having paid for the same game, you'd be getting the same, full deal.
If they had to leave something out, why couldn't it be that complete cowpat of a game mode FMX?
Isn't it obvious? Performance issues. While I feel with people on the 360, I'm more than happy someone at RedLynx finally had the guts to say it is not possible to have the same support for the 360 anymore.Originally Posted by L0RDMelchett Go to original post
I don't think anyone can deny that the decision to make the same game for the 360 had a major inpact on development time for current gen too. But the fact remains that there should have been better communication about this from the start, probably by making a 'seperate' version for old vs current gen. But in the light of this I feel RL should at least give people from the 360 the opportunity to upgrade their copy to current gen if they want, but since single lane mp was never really promised so I highly doubt that will happen.
