My friend has problems with saving progress in the DLC. In offline play sometimes the game saves his progress after he starts again, sometimes not. We played for almost an hour in coop and he didn't get his progress saved. I have no such problem. Any ideas about this?
Thank you!
Yes, in many occasions (always after a crush, and mostly while playing as a guest) after the reload the game chooses to load older save.
The workaround is simple:
When you realize your previous session progress is lost, exit the game immediately without saving.
Locate and open your saves folder (here's the instructions);
Inside that folder you will see two pairs of numbered *.save and *.save.upload files ("1" and "2", sometimes it's only two files 1.save and 2.save). Change the view to "Details" and try to delete the OLDEST pair/file, leaving only the NEWEST one. If it's "2", rename it to "1".
It's also a good idea to backup your saves folder before these manipulations.
Than, before loadind the game, don't forget to uncheck the box near the option "Enable Cloud Save Synchronization.." in Uplay general settings!
Yes. This is the problem. Well Ubisoft should fix this ASAP. It's getting a bit annoying. For every cool stuff in this game I get an annoying glitch. At least its not the disaster ACU was.Originally Posted by akunamatataa Go to original post
^Since you did not even respond to what "progress" you're thinking should be saved/retained, and what shouldn't, I have to take this with a grain of salt.
We all know the save system in general for FC4 is not as good as it could be, but if you don't even make the distinction that saving works differently in EfD than it does in the main campaign, then it appears you're not even aware of that, and it kinda becomes a moot discussion for lack of being on the same page.
Frag, my assumption was that if someone is talking about lost progress, he's supposed to have basic knowledge of what things are saved and what are not in EfD...
It's not a rocket science and I myself figured it out pretty easily, so why shouldn't he??? Is he stupid or something?))
I think the question itself is a bit insulting...
I admit it helped to know exactly what he was talking about since I experienced the same glitches, but nevertheless...![]()
How do we even know how long he's played the DLC or if he's even familiar with how it differs from the main campaign as far as what is retained in one life and what isn't unless he says so?Originally Posted by akunamatataa Go to original post
I saw a lot of people confused when they first played EfD, many taking a week or more to find out how the save system works and differs from the main game.Even the leader board stat structure is odd quite frankly.

Don't you think your approach is a little bit patronizing?
Why does the opponent have to convince you he knows what he's talking about before you even start helping him with an actual issue?![]()
I could easily say he's laying blame, so it would be Ubi that is innocent until proven guilty. And with no response from him on these critical points, we have no way of knowing. That's arbitration 101. I'm not doing the patronizing, it's you whom are patronizing the poster. I'm just saying we don't know enough to say because his input is too vague. And when he doesn't respond after having made that point, it kinda looks suspicious.Originally Posted by akunamatataa Go to original post
