Id have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. As much as it DOES have to do with the line design/object usage, i really think the origin of the glitch comes down to the tight front tire suspension. Id had countless of runs on beginners tracks (turbine terror, waterworks, etc) where id jump off a 5 feet ramp, and lose speed as i land...on a flat surface. You could get away with landing on both tires in Evo most of the time as long as it wasn't too high of a jump which also made it easier to set up for the next obstacle (usually the technical stuff you see on med/hard tracks).Originally Posted by xzamplez Go to original post
Now i know you think landing on back wheel bringing down the front softly is the fastest approach to maintaining speed, which it is, but in case of setting up for next obstacle (like doin a mini endo before spring brake-flippin on a curved inclined ramp) the Viper will glitch 100% if the front tire touches ANY surface before the back wheel does, at least for me it does.
Either way, this should have been entirely avoided with beta testing not limited to PC but consoles as well with invaluable feedbacks from reputable runners. This should be heavily considered for the next Trials game, first and foremost, before ANYTHING ELSE is put in development.
No, no, no and no.Originally Posted by funktastic- Go to original post
We're not talking about the field having a patch of wet grass that affects everyone, we're talking there being landmines in the grass that no one knows about. And yes, they would stop a match when a player gets his leg blown off into the stands.
I agree if the frontwheel hits anything at all, especially a ramp/bump/pipe shaped object it's as if it goes through, pretty much all the time at high speed/large jump.Originally Posted by Retribution Go to original post
And with this DLC the lava rock uphill portions are very noticable spots.
Uphill/curved objects are much more prone to it, but it can happen on flat pieces as well.
I think this is my favorite DLC and my favorite set of tracks. The effects are so crazy, and visually stimulating that I kept thinking back to Trials HD, which has a special place in my heart, with all the pyro and crazy flips, and now look at how far you've come. I mean you start on a moving train. What could be more awesome than that. Then a bar comes flying past and, WHAM! You go down. I kept wondering how they did this.
Thank you very much.
@Funk:
1. By stating that games are for the majority, you are basically saying it's okay to ignore the minority.
2. No, I believe they leave them in, because it's only detected by a relatively small portion of players, and because it limits what kind of tracks they can make. It very much is avoidable, because most proficient track creators manage to release tracks that aren't plagued by frequent tire glitches.
3. You were comparing rough terrain to a random glitch in a game. That's a poor argument. Trials physics is nothing like real life, and it doesn't attempt to be.
I said nothing about tracks, I was talking about physics, so I don't know why you brought that topic up. And yes, as long as the track has a good line, I find it entertaining.
4. Weak analogy.
I didn't tell you not to defend it, I said "please don't". It is a problem that seriously hampers the competitive merit of the game, and we have you defending it because it doesn't bother you. End of Assembly ultimately lost the Trials World Champoinship in Paris, because of a completely avoidable and very frequent tire glitch on Fishy Business.
If there was a glitch in the editor, I wouldn't care because I don't make tracks, but that doesn't mean I would defend their choice to ignore it. That's nothing less than selfishness.
You post in a public forum, you open yourself up to criticism.
I'm not posting with malice either. Your post was addressing the people who were reporting the tire glitches, and my post addressed the faulty reasoning behind your defense of ignoring a well-known glitch.
I have nothing against you.
You are right about the core of the glitch being in the suspension, but that can still be addressed by thing like fall height/sudden angle changes/pace. As for landing on your front tire and glitching, that's pretty unavoidable with the current physics of the game,Originally Posted by Retribution Go to original post

I shall use my original post bed to put this matter to bed
If you take a look at the post its self , which is one post not random points you wish to choose to quote like a politician who thinks he knows it all. The post its self declares that it is by no means correct , it declares its self that it is an assumption hence the words " assume " this is not and never will be a claim in which someone would use as a defending argument. This however is an obvious post to join in on a discussion within a forum in which i do regulary. I did not say this is that or this is why. I clearly said that i think and i assume and this is obviously what i have noticed. I did not state that they should ignore the minority and pointing out that this is most likely why its the way it is , is not defending that they do ignore them it is simply speaking about it and joining in within a forum and being an active member. I dont mind you replying to my post at all , but i mind in the manner that you did. For one you decided to take single points that you thought would be good to argue about. You also gave the point as a matter of factly and last but not least you then thought you had the right in which to suggest that i should not defend your provoking reponse. That alone is is declearing that your opinion must be correct that what you posted is the rule of law. There is another man who thought that his word was the rule and nobody should speak against it , sometime around the world war i think it was.Originally Posted by funktastic- Go to original post
It is people like your self who put people under pressure in having to declare everytime that they are joking. It is your manner in which you think you know best and what you speak of it must be rule and must be correct. Your posts regarding everything i write are a thought out attempt to provoke an argument where mine are usually just a quick post thats all and just continuing activity within the fourm. The fact that you have not once bothered to post with a reply regarding any activity within this forum that is either agreeing with me or just to join in is a true reflection in why you search out my posts and continue to disagree with me in a manner that quite frankly is patronising and annoying. This forum is open to people being human and people making some bad opinions and quick judgement calls , this is what i like about a place like this. This is aparanetly clear within most of my posts and hundreds of other within this room. Your self on the other hand is nothing more that what my bot can do. Nothing more than what so many people within the internet claim they know. You seem to know alot as you claim so why are you not making these games ? they are and this is how they make them succsesfully and that alone is a fact which proves your argument can not actually be true.
Again my post was not a defence it was not declaring that i was correct so why do you need to be so dam patronising with a response in which there is many of other post within this thread that you can respond to. You can declare that you know best you can declare that your points which do not come across as opinions but rather a matter of factly but at the end of the day you search out my posts and either provoke an argument or come across as a know it all plonker. I do not know the rules and how the game works but i do have common sense and this tells me that you for some reason just like arguing. The post can be replied to but not then turned around and made out to be something that its not , just to feed your ego.
I will not be engaging within any more responses to you , get someone esle to feed your ego will you it is now becoming boring and like i said i find it alittle creepy
edit - imagine not assume same thing
The main point about this was that a new dlc came out and i was hyped because it was really great , so i was joining the discussion where it was happening. I should not have to be told i am wrong when i never declared i was right. You reply was infact a statment of what you think you know not an opinion , they are 2 different things completly. Where you have said in your last post that you are entitled to have an opinion i agree yet yours was not an opinion , you actually said that i was wrong ? that my friends is not an opinion unless you have facts to prove otherwise. You just think you now it all ad this is something that you will learn the hard way it seems.
i will most likely get banned anyway now so you dont have to worry about my posts , but i cant be doing with people whi claim they know everything it gets right on my wick.
@Funk:
Picking apart points of an argument is just how I debate. It keeps my posts short and organized, rather than extensive and clustered.
I used to be very competitive in Trials, so I know the ins-and-out of the physics of the game (from a physical standpoint, not technical), and I (and any other competitive player) knows how it feels to lose runs due to something we have no control over. It simply shouldn't be in the game, and I am stating that as a fact. As long as Trials is a competitive game, randomness should not be in it.
So I haven't even insulted you or or shown any aggression, yet you compare me to Hitler?
I'm not making these games, because I don't know anything about programming. But I do know Trials in depth as a player.
Saying that a glitch that hinders gameplay shouldn't be in a game makes me a know it all?
It has nothing to do with ego, you just happen to say things that I feel are worth responding to. I don't usually respond to agree with people, because what's the point? When two opposing minds confront, both can learn. I enjoy debating. And I actually left positive feedback on one of your tracks.
So, it seems you have to agree with people for you to respect them, and go to the length of ignoring people you disagree with.
Why would you get banned?
Beta being limited to PC had nothing to do with occurrence of tire glitches. I, and many other reputable speedrunners, got into the beta promptly when it was available. It didn't take long to develop a good impression of the game, and I quickly made a post here on the forums decrying the atrocious frequency of tire glitches. I also commented on other notable problems, including the lacking customization options. Here is what I posted about tire glitches, Mar 21, 2014.Originally Posted by Retribution Go to original post

Its purpose was to assess whether the game was functional on the myriad of computers people are wont to play on, and ensure it was graphically sound. While I desperately wish that the Beta had been used to troubleshoot the game via crowd-sourcing good riders, that is what an Alpha is for, and none of us were invited.Tire Glitches
This is without a doubt the biggest problem in the game so far. Different people I have talked to have experienced different levels of frequency of tire glitches, but all agree they are present. It has been my experience that they are substantially more frequent than in Evolution. Some of mine can be attributed to imperfect landings, but there have been enough times when I have been cruising along at high speed on a smooth ramp, and been bounced around for no reason, wheeling over a ramp to maintain momentum (only back tire down) and had my speed suddenly reduced, and wheels generally catching on terrain that should be otherwise smooth. The community has been very vocal about this problem throughout Evo, and I am thoroughly dismayed to see it so prevalent in Fusion.
None of mine have been quite this epic, but still run ruining: Sandy's Tire Glitch Video
Other than that, I generally agree with you. From conversations with Shogun, it seems that tire glitches are here to stay. They are the product of a flaw in the game's physics engine, which was based on (might be too weak a statement, but ported might be too strong, not sure on this one) Evo's physics engine. Any changes to the physics engine would render prior progress/runs obsolete, so no changes will be made for Fusion. That said, drivelines can be built that attempt to minimize the prevalence of this bug. Choice of obstacles and knowledge of techniques required to pull off a fast run can help do this.
If I'm perfectly honest, I can't fathom why tire glitches were ever in Fusion in the first place. It seems to me that if you know there is a fundamental problem with the core of the new game you are trying to build, would you not attempt to fix it instead of sugar coating it with new graphics? If you know it's broke, fix it. I am simply at a loss.
