I have done pretty much everything I wanted to do in Far Cry 4. I finished the main campaign, finished the Shangri-La campaign, liberated all bell towers and took all the outposts and fortresses. Now I'm looking forward to learn every skill and craft all the upgrades. But the problem is: I need asian rhino pelts to go on with the craftings, but I simply CAN'T FIND ANY SINGLE RHINO ANYWHERE IN THE WHOLE KYRAT!!!
The thing is: the places where rhinos spawn are marked in the map, but, when I go to any of these places, there are no rhinos there. I look at every corner and even use some syringues, but there just isn't any! The last time I saw a rhino was around ten days ago. Since then, I have this problem: it seems that they were finally hunted down to extinction.
Can you guys help me with this? Is it a glitch? Perhaps a bug? Is there someplace in Kyrat where I can infallibly find these damn rhinos?
I hope there's an answer for my question![]()
The lower 1/2 of southern map, seemed to always have rhinos. There were a lot all over the northern map. Yeah, where they are marked on the map.
I really had no trouble finding any of the animals. Just gotta wonder around a bit. I think bears were the hardest to initially stumble across, then all of a sudden they were everywhere.
My trouble was taking down a rhino once I found one. Even with the 87 or the autocross. I got rather good at dancing around a tree while shooting them and keeping them on the opposite side of the tree from myself.
In the lower center of the south on your map you will see a rhino logo on a left river bank. Go here and walk up and down that river bank from the bridge to the south of the logo to the turret to the north of the logo. They will spawn and come out to drink from the river. Be patient, you will get all that you need.
You'll get really sick of them in the Northern map. There's a lot more of them. If you walk near one and don't see it right away, you'd either better run fast (unfortunately, they're faster) or at least have some serious firepower or dodging around trees abilities. It's also much better to hunt rhinos from the back of an elephant once you get the ability to ride them. They won't attack the elephant and you can easily follow the rhinos when they run and shoot them without fear of being squashed.
I did not try the AMR or Z93, but the SA50 would not 1 shot rhinos in my game. It might make 'em a little mad. It would take around 10 headshots to take a rhino down .... with any gun (albeit I did not try the AMR, Z93, or a grenade or rocket launcher).
I found the tree dance to be a lively bit of entertainment, and semi-effective method to hunt rhinos.![]()
At the very start of the game, they are always there:
10 arrows from recurve bow to the head for double skin and karma, and remember that trees are your best friends.)) You can use your knife too.
As for other animals, you can get them all (except yaks) even before doing single campaign mission.
You can hunt all "lurable" predators from a single spot. For example, this screenshot was taken 100 meters from Banapur:
