So I was unfortunate enough to get my CD key banned a few days ago, because I purchased it from G2A. But dont worry, I'm not here to complain about that. I'm here to ask, if I get a new key, will all my Far Cry 4 progress such as achievements/savefiles stay bound to my account? Or will I have to start all over..? Because that will truly suck, I do have my save files backed up though, but just wondering?
Find your SavedGame folder and your saved games should be there. Perhaps also you will need your GamerProfile.xml
That or look for these two files... 1.sav & 2.sav
Now, this may not happen to you but it did happened to my friend when he updated from 1 patch to the next, he had to used his back up saves and it work but he lost some of his XP, Kharma, etc, etc. the whole thing is kinda wigged out now so he is thinking that he may want to start a new campaign. This may be because of updating patches so you may be ok
Thanks for the reply, but I was asking if the progress will stay there if I use a new Key? And yes, I have 1.sav and 2.sav backed up, why is it 2 files?Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Well, your saved games is your progress... then again, if you read my third sentence you will understand that your progress may be botched. Even if you have already defeated the 4 Fortresses, it may still ask you to do so for XP, etc, etc.
1.sav is the Auto-Save from Ubi after each mission quest or outpost exit and 2.sav is when you manually save in the middle of somewhere
