aerowolf, at this point, if you have uninstalled the C++ Redist
log out of uplay.
reboot
log back into uplay
launch FC5, do whatever it says

the 2017 is the one that many have reported caused them problems. that is the one that caused me problems as well.
To be clear, I never had to go back and redownload the ENTIRE game.
I just wiped out the C++ redistributable that was causing the problem and then the final update to apply the "live" patch was able...
I had the problem that many did. We had preloaded the game. When the unlock path was ready, it started the update (I recall it said X of 12 parts). It gets to about the 3rd part and then would crap...
Repairing the C++ did not work for me. I had to uninstall it completely, exit Uplay. Get back into Uplay and things worked from there.
No. If you sort them by date installed, one should have today's date on it. Uninstall THAT one.
If you sort the C++ by date installed, you will see one from today. Uninstall that completely.
Exit Uplay.
Get back in and update.
What worked for me was to FULLY uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86), exit Uplay and get back and continue the update.
