Also an external is easier to setup as you don't have to install the firmware and all your (downloaded) games again. Same with syncing your save files.
External is a quick format and a transfer...
Tested the external SSD yesterday and can confirm that it solves almost all textures issues. Popups are almost all gone and loading times are faster too ofcourse.
