If you are on OS X then yes, that should be the same. Note that you have to left-click on the amulet. The right-click is only to allow you to move the pointer to the bottom of the screen.

If the DVDs were copy-protected, that would be promoting software piracy but since they are not, it's just a matter of copying files (mostly data files) from to DVD to the right place.

Unfortunately for you, the OS X version of Myst IV is incompatible with Snow Leopard (and anything above that).
Always good to do a few updates.
