did you try to reset the application cache as per instructions here: https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Article/000061966/Emptying-the-cache-of-Ubisoft-Connect ?
it is indeed possible to use any authent app as long as you use the QRCode to link your account to the given app.
the wording when linking the app to your account is indeed correct as it says...
i think this is a really bad idea to put the 'quit' action just millimeters under the 'disconnect' action with no separation whatsoever because it's quite easy to disconnect instead of quitting, then...
since i had a problem with the ubisoft launcher, i had to clear the cache and then reenter my 2fa code in the launcher, which i didn't do for a long time.
imagine my surprise when the launcher...
i can confirm that resetting the cache does work as i had the same incessant popup problem.
