Beta Buildoff Winners Announced

The Beta Buildoff Challenge has ended! While we may not have been overwhelmed by an avalanche of tracks, what we received was high quality and we had a blast running through them and arguing over the winners.
Before we get into our track placement, we’re going to look at the winners based on Beta play stats. The tracks with the highest rating and the track with the highest download count will be picking up some prizing, so let’s take a look.
Most Played - Keep A Cool Head by xXRajadoXx
xXRajadoXx’s wintertime frozen track received almost 700% more downloads than any other track. This is a solid track that works well (in my experience) playing against others. Nicely done, xXRajadoXx!

Highest Rated – SuperX Opening Stage by Duke_of_Dirty
SPOILERS: We’ll be talking more about this track in just a bit, but with a community rating of 73% Positive, Duke takes the crown (and the prize) for the highest rated Beta BuildOff Challenge track. Well done, Duke.

After a few debates and some (possibly overly enthusiastic) bickering, we’ve settled on the following tracks for placement.
3rd Place – SuperX Opening Stage by Duke_of_Dirty
This is a flowing line if I’ve ever seen one (I have). Timing your hops and speed control are super-important and make for some really close races between skilled opponents. Also, the custom checkpoints are a nice touch.

2nd Place – Future Past by TeriXeri
TeriXeri isn’t afraid to throw you into an extreme line, and Future past can be punishing. Hearing the anguish in the voice of your opponents as they lose the lead after getting stuck on a tough obstacle is always awesome in my book (go ahead and gloat at the 1st checkpoint, man).

1st Place – Dacien Ruins by bassline001
If you mix Technique with Trials & Tribulations, maybe stir in a littleThe Rise and Fall and you’ll have a track that might come close to capturing the feel and flow of Dacien Ruins. The track does an amazing job of inducing that “One More Go” feeling and the layout is well suited for seeing opponents break away from the pack and gain ground.

Awesome tracks by amazing builders. Not much left to say other than THANK YOU to everyone who participated.
