Rider and Vehicle Visibility problem when using bike part detach feature
I have just recently noticed an problem with the visibility of the bike and rider when using the bike part detach feature in the editor.
I have converted the quad into a freeroam vehicle, i have done this by detaching the drive motors and wheels from the quad, the quad itself is then attached to a makeshift chassis which has it's own suspension and wheels, the rider is rendered unconcious upon the start of the level and is attached to the quad and maniplulated via physics joints, this all works fine but....
When you drive more than 1300 metres in any direction from the detached parts the quad and rider disappear, the quad and rider are still there as i can see their shadow, but there seems to be a visibility issue after the above stated distance, my conclusion to this is that after 1300 metres the game no longer renders the detached parts visible thus affecting the visibility of the quad, but not sure why this happens to the rider aswell as he is an entirely different object.
First i thought this was an issue with the proximity to the driving line, so i extended it to 1500 metres and made sure to drive along next to where i had placed it so i knew i was always near it, but still the bike and rider disappear after 1300 metres.
I do have a version of my freeroam quad which has all the parts attached and is just manipulated by physics joints and this visibility problem does not happen, but with this setup the quad is mostly undrivable as the pyshics joints are fighting the quads built in physics, so that solution is unusable.
I thought to myself that as i can nudge around the detached parts with the vehicle when playing the level i might be able to place them in certain places around the map then the quad would always have a point of reference within the required distance, but cannot figure out a way of doing this as using an OPE does not work on the bike parts.
I may just have to restrict the size of my freeroam worlds to 1300 metres in every direction so this problem does not occur, but then that's just no fun as i prefer to freeroam the entire map.
So any Crazy Solutions/Ideas you can think of would be greatly appreciated :D
