I tried RSRD again for the first time in a long time.
I was shocked at how easy it was to sink ships.
I mean one fish and bang down they go, most break
in two and go down as two pieces. Does anyone else
remember it being easier than TMO alone?

Your probably right. I just didn't remember it being that easy to sink a ship.
I'll have to try "Real Fleet Boat" next and see how that goes. I still can't get
TMO2.5 to give me a Gato class, it always skips right over the Gato. Nothing
I seem to do can fix it. Any ideas??

The link above will fix the problem.
Blow, a good majority of the merchants in RSRD carry fuel or ammo as cargo and one torp will explode them and usually any ship near them. I attacked the Java invasion once and hit one ship and the domino effect sunk about a dozen more...not bad for one torp, shame you don't get credit...
The TMO small patch has nothing to do with it. Duci felt RSRD had to many loaded cargo ships making them easier to sink, so he used little of that cargo. For the most part Duci uses loaded fuel on shps headed from the Java area to Japan. RSRD does load a lot of ships, but mostly invasion forces and convoys that run the Palawan shipping lanes. You don't see as many 44 onward... Now, if you learn what cargo looks like that explodes, you can use it. I often try to catch escorts coming near such ships and time a shot hoping to blow them up..
One fun attack, I caught the tanker force supporting the Battle of Philippine Sea leaving Daveo...12 total. I only torped four, but sunk all 12 and a few pesky escorts...
