I'm not sure if this is in the right place.
I haven't seen anyone else mention it, so I wanted to say I think I know what the Pyrosequencing option in the menu is.

I think you got it lol, good job.
Most likely is the connection to frontier they have been so secretive about.
Or the leader boards and track central :O
I seen this today on the beta...couldn't access it obviously because it is a beta but it still intrigued me in how the feature was added just before fusions launch. it may very well be the feature you described :) its exciting nonetheless and it gives me hope as to whether cross platform could actually happen.
That does make sense. I've been pretty patient on this news and this would be a pretty cool reveal. Perhaps that is the area where all we can search by Uplay ID (TC/Leaderboards) and all that stuff gets converted to your platform whereas the rest of the game uses whatever platform you're on for friends and the like.
I am very confident that it is just the connection from fusion to frontier, and it was not added just before launch, that option has been there since day one of the beta, the only thing they added was an animation.
well since no one else seems to have noticed or bothered to mention, the range of numbers that the pyrosequencing animation displays has been slowly decreasing. it has been dropping by about 50/100 per day since the animation first appeared, and it is on route to hit zero on launch day. Albeit a bit of a slap in the face to PC players on the PC Beta to have a countdown till the Console launch IMO, but its whatevs.
That would be amazing. I still cant understand what extra time the PC version needs since the Beta is a very solid build. I hope until the 24th that they release it earlier as they did with Evo gold which was released one day before official release on steam, if i remember that right.
Possibly, but not holding breath.
I feel I should mention I nerded out over the Amino acid sequencing happening to the left of the number (Four letters A,T,C and G being jumbled up), although it should be three chemical bases, not four.
There is a different uniform you wear in frontier if you get gold on the same three tracks in both frontier and fusion. That's all that's visible at the moment.
What I wondered is if it will be possible to make frontier tracks in the fusion editor (to be played on frontier of course). They have no track central/editor on mobile and I thought it might be interesting if they gave a scaled down way to do that... In effect making a single editor for all their new trials-related products. Seems far-fetched but possible.....
So I'll add further speculation before this is unlocked (presumably tomorrow). This is my hope (at the least), perhaps this is where they'll pick the best tracks from all version and convert them to all consoles, providing it's not pure cross-platform Track Central. Probably something like they'll do with the Track Jam folks, since their tracks are going to be available on all versions.
The numbers just ended up wrapping around to the high 9900 range, so apparently it wasnt a countdown, GG.
I figured it'd be a good time to resurrect this speculative thread for more visibility as ANBA dropped a hint on Twitter in a conversation with Barry and JoeRegular a couple days ago (mentioned by JoeRegular in another thread, I think). He linked to an article about parallel dimensions (below). I'm still putting my chips on cross-platform Track Central at the least (though I still speculate that's what the Uplay Recommended section will be for). I highly doubt there'd ever be cross-platform multiplayer, but ANBA did say in an IGN interview that we'd see online multiplayer like it's never been seen before, which would count I guess (for those few that believe that). I still doubt it, though and think that they've just expanded something.

Yeah I noticed it doesn't count down anymore, so maybe we will find out soon
Sounds interesting, I hope we will find out soon.
Still hoping for cross-platform TC (for the good tracks at least)
Yea, ^ ^ that would be good.
I'm hoping it's something that allows you to see other platform leaderboards
I'm sure I read somewhere that Anba hinted it was a new way for them to incorporate tournaments?
I was half expecting the definition of 'Pyrosequencing' to involve 'the finishing of incomplete software releases' (joke)
Cross platform tournaments on TC tracks>?
Go check the stickied Easter egg thread.
Anba offered a little secret the other day apparently. Now if you look at the pyrosequencing letters...there is a 0 to the right of it. (the numbers counting down don't mean anything I don't think as that has changed to letters. Someone checked before release and the numbers just wrapped around once it gets to 0000)
EDIT - That'll teach me not to read recent posts. :p
weird.. i assumed the tournament section would replace the Pyrosequencing message once they are added.
im like 75% sure i saw "Tournaments" in that same menu somewhere in a video or something..
aw man if it is just tournaments that going there that's super lame
i was hoping something new and coo
I noticed the icon changed from DNA to a flashing Cup on PC, and it's still counting down about 150 a day, started at 9000-ish now it's 7900 or so.
Call me Mr Grumpy (Barry will) but I am a little more excited about patches to fix issues/TC than more addons. Whilst I want tournaments and really want online MP (mainly for track testing) I really really want TC changes and editor expansions/pieces :(
Still, any additions are exciting, I know.
just found this on google donīt know if allready posted

Yeah, this was from the Beta on PC I believe. There is a stickied Q/A thread somewhere that has the explanation for this but I wouldn't blame you for not finding it.
I reckon they were gonna do normal tournaments but NOW have something bigger planned.
We just have to be patient. :)
I think weekly (or monthly) tournaments on user made tracks would be cool. Better than just playing a bunch of tracks we already have in a row.
+1 to that. That's a brilliant idea.
Also, maybe you can set up your own tournaments to be competed on by you and your mates. (including custom tracks). That would work quite well considering you need to download the tracks every time. This would be in addition to set tournaments using base game tracks.
