I was forced to hear it. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif
My brother is a huge Eminem fan and he's always playing his music.
I don't know what the songs are called, but they weren't that bad.
That's a compliment coming from me since I'm not into rap at all.
Way too much "soulful" female vocalists in the chorus that don't really add anything, just there to catch that Stan feeling into those songs. I just dislike everything Rick Rubin touches these days. Also Eminem and rock elements don't mix at all.
OK record overall, nothing special but still better than I expected.
I am a huge Eminem fan but I only really enjoy about 50% of the album.
Favorites:
Rap God
Rhyme and Reason
Love Games
Headlights
Evil Twin
Apart from Rhyme Or Reason I enjoyed the other 50%...Quote:

Not my genre at all but the first Marshall Mathers LP has a special place in my heart. Went a little south from there though, but I'm picking this one up.
how can you leave out 'So much better'? clearly the best track on the album.Quote:

also good. I like about 50% of the album as well. Got a nice vibe and is better than I thought, but quite some way off the first one still.
I'm generally against going into threads when i know the subject is something I don't like but I keep seeing this one in active topics so here I am... to hate on Marshal Mathers. Not going to rant just going to say I've never understood the appeal of Eminem, he's been making basically the same songs on every album for over a decade now. I found it mildly amusing at first (mostly because the radio edit of his first single had some funny lines) but for me his whole schtick quickly grew old. Haven't heard anything from the dude to change my mind since.
He keeps doing his angry white young male thing because it works. I like when artists dont change too much over the years, cause when they do they usually start to suck. They got popular for a reason, so why change a winning concept? I havent listened to a lot of Eminem other than this album and the ones from when his career jump started, but what I've heard, I've liked. He expresses himself very well and you can gather a lot of intelligence behind all that anger. For some of us, his music is a good way to let off some steam. Imo a lot of rap sounds the same song in, song out, and Eminem is the exception to the rule and I like that.Quote:
