Chinese state-run media has published a map showing how nuclear attacks on the United States could kill 5 million to 12 million Americans. Meanwhile, Chinese state media is criticizing Jimmy Kimmel, after a 6-year-old in the Kid’s Table segment of his show joked about killing Chinese to get rid of U.S. debt.
During an Oct. 16 segment of “Kid’s Table,” Kimmel asked a group of children how the United States should pay back its debt to China, and a 6-year-old boy said they could “kill everyone in China” to get rid of the debt.
After a round of similarly outlandish comments, Kimmel closed the segment and said, “Well this has been an interesting edition of Kid’s Table, the ‘Lord of the Flies’ edition.”
A group calling itself the “80–20 National Asian American PAC” is protesting Kimmel, and an online White House petition is calling for his show to be canceled.
They are calling for ABC President Paul Lee to admit the mistake and fire Kimmel.
ABC publicly apologized for the segment. Kimmel also apologized, and told Chinese media, “I just thought it was such a preposterous statement that no one would take it seriously, and obviously people did take it seriously and I feel bad about that.”
Yet, Chin’’s state-run press is keeping up the pressure.
The irony in all of this is that while a 6-year-old American joked about killing Chinese, state-run media in China published a very serious map of how to kill Americans with nuclear weapons.
China’s state-run Global Times newspaper published an image showing a map of the United States with red spots on Washington, Oregon, and California, marking targets for nuclear attacks on the West Coast.
The Washington Times linked to the image on Oct. 31. The map includes an orange zone of surrounding areas where Americans would be killed by the bombs, and yellow zones where nuclear radiation would seep across half the United States.
Chinese state-run media said the attacks from its nuclear submarines could kill 5 million to 12 million Americans.
“We definitely need to look at this with a wary eye, because this threat was specific, and certainly it is the most hostile you can imagine, because they’re talking about killing millions of Americans,” China expert Gordon Chang, author of The Coming Collapse of China, told Komo News.
Epoch Times obtained emails addressed to leaders of Chinese associations regarding the incident. They call for Chinese associations to join a protest in front of the ABC building on Nov. 7. It also links to a White House petition calling for an investigation of Kid’s Table, and asks them to sign it.
One email states, “In the 1990s, strong protest against accusation of Chinese spying in the United States achieved the intended effect that suspicion of spying by Chinese is no longer a hot media topic. Been there, done that, please join the Thursday, Nov 7, 11:30 AM protest at the center of Chicago right in front of ABC’s office.”
It states that close to 50 Chinese associations have signed on, and asks leaders to forward the email to their members.
Chinese associations play pseudo governmental roles in overseas Chinese communities. They range from hometown associations representing China’s various provinces, to associations for Chinese people in specific industries.
Although some associations are benevolent, many have direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The People’s Republic of China has two branches under its Central Committee that directly govern Chinese association: the United Front Work Department, and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.
Chinese media reports that similar protests are planned in 18 cities around the United States on Nov. 9. Locations include Los Angeles, New York, Houston, and San Diego.
The state-run media claims the protests will be larger than the 2008 protests against CNN, after Jack Cafferty called Chinese authorities “the same bunch of goons and thugs they’ve been for the last 50 years.”

Oh dear. Minor tensions. USA better play it cool, because China will be the worlds ultimate superpower soon.
Stupid media stiring the pot.
Heartless line from a script given to a 6 year old.
Stupid world.

Those bits aren't scripted.... that's why it was aired. Kids say insane stuff without the need for scripts.

Never seen the show, I just assumed because a lot "reality" TV or otherwise is scripted, but not all.

Here is the full segment. I do think that the media is "stirring the pot", as it's a silly remark made by a 6 year old. You can see the look of surprise on Kimmel's face when it is said, as he is obviously astounded by the remark.
Here is the image of the nuclear plan as to how to destroy the USA. Is a 6 year old making a silly remark really more heartless and stupid than China releasing a map/plan of how to kill up to 30 million Americans?

I was referring to both parties involved.
China (it's leaders) didn't release the map it was a newsgroup within China.
Media stirring the pot. Well unless the newsgroup is owned by a higher power.
But yes, even if those kiddies lines were scripted, the map is a lot more provocative and menacing.
Not sure why such a TV show even exists though, but hey I say the same for 50% of TV and either way what was said was intended as a joke.

Not something a lot of adults want to think about because quite frankly, it's scary. Our natural reaction to fear is to flee. We don't want to think about how we can't pay back China a debt that we know and they know can't ever be repaid in a monetary form. It's just not going to happen like that.
So if not money then...what? China would not have let our debt to keep piling up like that if they were not getting something in return. That's just corporate common sense. This is business on the biggest of levels.
Most likely the deals have been put in place years ago and we will find out what our governments decided on. Time will tell.
