Worst company in american history: EA
http://consumerist.com/2013/04/08/wo...vs-ea-part-ii/
EA was named as the worst company in the US according to the consumers the second time in a row, See the chart at the bottom, it shows how the versus's came out.
Good news is EA won't be making more NCCA anymore, now I wanna see EA going bankrupt so Bioware, DiCE, Respawn and all it's developers in hand can choose a better publisher! EA has been dooming us since many years with $_$, and they never improved their products except 1% progress per year and even push the developers to release games unfinished.

Re: Worst company in american history: EA
I'm not going to list all the reasons why this is short-sighted and how skewed the polls are. Let's just say that no, I do not hope to see EA bankrupt.

Re: Worst company in american history: EA
As much as EA sucks, and are one of many blights on the industry, firstly they are a corporation to be specific (still a company tho), secondly there are other corporations, oil barons for example, that make EA look like merely a teen bully on the playground.

Re: Worst company in american history: EA

Henry Ford is a pioneer, EA are worst people in America. Both intended to make as much money as possible. Funny old world eh? http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif

Re: Worst company in american history: EA
The thing why EA is a bad company is because they need to pay full 60$ price every new EA sport game with minimal improvements every year, like FIFA, Madden, Sims. These games are only worth 5$, but 60$ is not fair. They don't fix the buhd and that happens every year, they don't invest big efforts in those games, and they even put Microtransactions in these 60$ games. Their servers crash often, they remove online features of games when getting inactive already after 1 year (if EA was RedLynx' publisher, they could've shut down the the server!), which other servers take at least 3 to 6 years till fully shut. They forced players on SimCity to always be connected to network, and which leaded to overload EA servers. They promised things which weren't seen.
EA almost planned to release games at 80$, which is 20$ more, but held off because Sony & Microsoft didn't allow higher than 60$.
It's not the problem of $$, it was because they charge high costs but with poor service, and then still you didn't got the full experience at all, because with costly DLC, which was done before the game release, and should be with the game bundle.

Why is this short sighted and why do you defend EA for no reason? Do you want to leave EA the same and have microtransactions in every upcoming EA game? Have you read everything in the artice?
You can re-read it here:
Spoiler: Show
PROMISES PROMISES
After EA came out of nowhere to win the WCIA title last year, it first tried to shrug off the victory by pointing out that some of the previous Golden Poo winners may have been worse, like a bratty adolescent who uses examples of worse kids in the neighborhood to get out of being punished by his parents. EA failed to realize that there may be more than a few different ways to merit a Worst Company crown.
Then later in the year, it seemed to realize that maybe it should do something to suck a little less, with the head of customer service foretelling a “drastic shift in the company.” That message didn’t seem to get around to everyone, as EA’s CFO ticked off much of the gaming community by talking about the importance and predicted omnipresence of microtransactions — in-game purchases for add-on content — in every EA game. He eventually backtracked on his own words, saying he only meant that microtransactions would be part of every free-to-play game.
EA then picked the absolute worst time possible to screw up the release of the eagerly anticipated SimCity 5, encompassing almost every reason so many gamers hate the company.
First, though it’s still produced under the Maxis brand, that name means nothing anymore as Maxis has been owned by EA for more than a decade. Then there is the requirement that SimCity users must be connected to the Internet in order to play, which many claim — in spite of EA’s repeated denials — is a blatant, crippling attempt to fight piracy at the expense of consumers’ convenience or privacy.
Additionally, this always-online requirement highlights another common complaint about EA — that it rushes titles out before they are ready for the market. The company itself has admitted that it wasn’t prepared to for all the people who would, heaven forbid, want to actually play the game they just bought.
In its defense of the always-online issue, EA actually mentioned microtransactions — one of the very things that gamers hate about the company — as a positive reason for not allowing offline play.
As the WCIA nominations poured in, EA bragged about all the copies of SimCity had been sold, glossing over the fact that lots of those people weren’t able to play. Let’s not forget that CEO John Riccitiello stepped down from his gig in the middle of all this.
Then, just as EA’s margins of victory were beginning to get slimmer, company COO Peter Moore decides it’s a good time to issue a “we can do better” message… a message that goes out of its way to deflect criticism, going so far as to claim that a bizarre, right-wing homophobic conspiracy is really the underlying reason for EA’s inclusion in this year’s tournament. That, and people who were mad about the cover of Madden NFL. Funny that none of the many, many readers who nominated EA this year mentioned either of these things.

Every company everywhere ever didn't destroy my two favorite franchises: Command & Conquer and Simcity.
C&C 4: No more resource management
Kane is an alien and the only reason he practically annihilates the human race is to create a beacon for a way home. Kane is E.T. and he phoned home -_-. wow.
Simcity: Should have been - Cities XL with multiplayer, became - Simcity Social.
All sports games could be replaced with a base game & yearly DLC's. There is a reason they resell for $1, would be lower but that's the cheapest stores can sell a used game.
But that's really it. A lot of great titles from the past, just those 3 that urk me.

It's short sighted because you pay no mind what EA going down would do to the industry. It really isn't as simple as everyone "just switching to another publisher".
That's why I'm defending EA "for no reason" (which is a highly odd thing to say if you think about it). I'm thinking of the industry as a whole and not just Simcity or the microtransactions in Dead Space 3 that I never even once felt the need to use.
I never implied EA couldn't do with a bit of a change but flat out going broke? That's an entirely different matter. And yes, I read the article but I haven't read *just* that one article.
Which is exactly why I say what I do.

Re: Worst company in american history: EA
i'm sorry they ruined those games for you and many others
but they are for from the only company that ruined stuff with godawfull drm or made bad games and ruined stuff
nor are they the only company that spits out yearly itterations( with almost no improvements) like their life depends on it
they did improve their bussiness model since they ditched online passes
their microtransactions are hardly the worst , not even close
does this make them good? no
do i trust them? i'll do some research before i buy stuff, ssx was pretty good certainly after they patched in a better mp
