Re: Sharing custom objects, there's a website for that!
currently i don't see much issue or negative effects this sharing will have on tc
but i would hate it if fusion would get a favorites central to share objects
-the vast majority of tc isn't creative and would just spam the best looking objects till you are as bored of them as stair/b ball tracks , don't move's etc
-tracks can already look pretty much "coppies" without even using identical objects
-the sharing of some coding wont help much, doing some modifications can easily mess it up certainly if the user used this system because he lacks the knowledge to build it himself, let alone understand what someone else made
in its current form people might find some usefullness and objects are unlikely to be spammed because it isn't an ingame feature to be abused by bad creators
i would love if redlynx made collabirations between friends much easier on fusion but never wanna see a object central
Re: Sharing custom objects, there's a website for that!
First I'd like to see fusion's editor or even just a gameplay demo/trailer before even thinking about that version, just seeing from the world concept art there might be just so many more types of items from the start (other then the mostly industrial from HD/Evo baseset (without DLC). So far I've seen City/Desert/Forest Art and I think I read snow somewhere, here's hoping it's actually gonna be in the game http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/smile.gif
With some more advanced editing stuff like scaling/painting objects/textures etc (my wishes, not certain if it will be actually in) we might have a near endless custom item pool.
Right now Evo gold has some limitations on items mainly coloring stuff white, or lights (often have to resort to camera filters)
I tend to either use Rock Slabs, Planks+Logs or Metal objects for drivelines.
DLC filled a lot of item gaps on xbox especially on historic themed items for western/roman+greek/medieval/pirate etc, and futuristic/pixelated via other objects+primes. Also the much larger pool of music and 2 other worlds. I'm still hoping it will come to PC in some form before fusion.
Re: Sharing custom objects, there's a website for that!
Thank you for making the website and the app! A very good resource for track creators. Especially for stuff like trigger/event chains, animations, and learning how to set it up. I shared a little prefab, now awaiting your approval. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/smile.gif

You're welcome http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/smile.gif I approved your prefab this morning but still have to test it out, and a few other new ones. But with TC being offline right now I think i'm going to wait until it's back up.
Re: Sharing custom objects, there's a website for that!
Just a question about the extraction, which saved games are the favorites? I don't know which ones they are, because there are files with many numbers but don't seem that there is any favorite section.

The folders that look like this : "0000000000000xxxxxxxxxxx-0.o" (the smallest folder names) are the ones that are favorite objects, the other ones are track folders. You can also open the "displayname" file within that folder with notepad to check the name of the favorite. And the -0 in this example means that it belongs to group #1.

Ok, I've got that! Thanks http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/smile.gif

You can zip the folder containing the files using winzip/7zip, or use my software (Trials Object Manager) to import/export zip files. It's way easier than doing it manually..
You can find the software on the main page of the website and in my signature

OK, I've zipped it, and wanted to share one, but there was a message saying wrong file type, but the file even shows a .zip behind.
For some reason the Trials Object Manager doesn't work, so I need to do it manually, but I need your help why it doesn't want to share even I did put a zipped file and an correct image.
Oh well, that's how the computer system works with the endless data problems for someone who doesn't know about it. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif

Hmm that should not happen.. I'll try uploading a manually zipped folder but I don't see why there would be a problem..

You might have to install Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Get it here)
