What i am looking for is more a way to launch an object away from the player in the direction it is facing and have it continue on that path until it contacts or for a certain amount of time. Btw have you tried out the track?

that video tutorial up there should explain most if not all of it, its not the quickest, most precise method Im sure, but its fairly easy to follow.
which part specifically is causing problems? I havent got Gold Edition so I cant try the track myself sorry.

It's not so confusing, just copy the yellow cards and it's properties (don't need to know the description), and it explains at top-right box if you don't have DLC, that you use 3 variable data source instead a vector, 3 object info data source instead a vector object info data source etc with everything that has something to do with "vectors".
This way is actually the best, because it has more 'real' gun functions, and is short as possible, then you can print it.
backlashgamez way has one feature less, more cards required than you actually need and 1 flaw I've noticed, that he didn't add a "state event: off" to the "A/RT" button at the end of the bullet animation, and you'll see the flaw when you press a 2nd time the fire button while the animation didn't end.
