Have any of you guys played Bioshock Infinite yet? I enjoyed the first game, but got kind of bored with it and kept putting it down, so it took me a couple of months to beat. From what I've played of Infinite, I'm extremely impressed so far. The story is great, and it's got some of the most awesome environments I've ever seen.
*Ok, very mild spoilers ahead*
I have kind of been missing the suspenseful atmosphere from the first game, though. I'd been going through this whole game thinking it wasn't that scary, and then like 10 hours into the game, this CRAZY jump scare just comes out of nowhere! It's not really the cheap "Boo!" kind of jump scare, either. The game sets it up so perfectly, making you sneak past these enemies and keep a distance from them, and just when you think you're in the clear and you've almost forgotten about them, you turn around and BAM! One of them is standing there breathing right down your neck.
I don't normally scare this easily, but with basically the whole game setting me up for this moment, I literally jumped out of my chair, dropped my mouse on the floor, and nearly flipped my laptop off the desk, lol. I thought the surgeon scene in Bioshock 1 was bad, but OMG, I really didn't see this coming at all!
Anyway, I accidentally alt-tabbed out of the game during that part, so I thought since I've got the game minimized I'll come here to calm my nerves after nearly having a heart attack, lol. It's a really fantastic game, and has a good chance of being my GOTY. You should all play it, even if you're like me and don't normally play first person shooters.
