Ninja Tracks ruin Track Central?
the problem with ninja tracks is the track central rating system:
ninja difficulty is for absolutely professional riders ONLY - normal players will never finish the tracks, so they will also never be able to rate such tracks. the result is, that ninja tracks will only be rated by this little amount of the best players in the world (everytime 5 stars maybe) and thats why we have that much / too much ninja tracks at best rated feeds everywhere.
example: The Bell Tower by Synapsis is the 2. best rated track of the week with just 83 ratings http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon/eek.gif this track is surely amazing but millions of players wont ever be able to play and enjoy it.
what could RedLynx do to solve this problem?
- some special feeds for the professional players. ninja tracks should not appear in other feeds to bring back the fun to normal players.
[list:1mgkvj10][*:1mgkvj10]add "Best Ninja Tracks in 48h" feed[/*:m:1mgkvj10]
[*:1mgkvj10]add "Ninja Tracks of the Week" feed[/*:m:1mgkvj10]
[*:1mgkvj10]add "Best Ninja Tracks overall" feed[/*:m:1mgkvj10][/list:u:1mgkvj10]
- give everyone the chance to rate tracks.
[list:1mgkvj10][*:1mgkvj10]updated rating system "Played and Rated"[/*:m:1mgkvj10]
[*:1mgkvj10]new rating system "Replay watched and Rated"[/*:m:1mgkvj10][/list:u:1mgkvj10]
- change Ninja from a tag into a real difficulty. tags should describe the tracks theme, not its difficulty...
ps: yes i personally HATE ninja tracks (too much frustration just isnt fun for me)
hmm i think the most ninja fans are here in this forums, so i dont expect much positive reactions on this http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif but please everyone think about it to improve our favorite game, thanks.
Re: Ninja Tracks ruin Track Central?
No...
Because ACTUAL ninja tracks barely even exist. Right now there are 2-3 ninja tracks in the highest rated this week (One of them by me!). The rest are pirate.
There IS a problem with Track Central being flooded with "ninja" tracks, but you have completely misidentified the cause. Blame pirate tracks, not ninja tracks.
Also I'm tired of talking and complaining about ninja/pirate tracks.

Re: Ninja Tracks ruin Track Central?
Just stop playing all the extreme's.
Re: Ninja Tracks ruin Track Central?
I get what your saying and I do agree to a point. I know a lot of days the 48hr feed has almost nothing but extremes or technical tracks to choose from and I have to manually search trials/medium/highest rated/released today just to find something I may want to play. Since there's so many it would be great if they just made a section for extremes so they don't take up the entire page of 48hr and there's other options for people that don't want to bother with them...I doubt it will happen though. I just think it's a trend with new builders because it's easier to build a technical track with a *** load of questionable objects than it is to build a fun flowing ride or an extreme/hard track that's challenging but fair. But in the same vein 60% of all mediums are loopfest afterburner crap that's just as bad http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif .
Re: Ninja Tracks ruin Track Central?
I will never understand why ninja was made to be a tag instead of a difficulty. IMO, doing that made newcomers think that a ninja track was a track that contained obstacles that you had to do special tricks to get past. I really don't blame the creators of these tracks that are clogging up the feeds. The devs should have understood what ninja difficulty meant before designing TC.
Also, it's absolutely farcical how many tracks have 4* ratings. Literally, they may as well have no star rating system at all. The only way a track gets 5* is if it's either really difficult or really long in which case anybody who doesnt like it wont finish it and be able to give it the rating it deserves.

Surely its time to accept it how it is and deal with it now?
