What is a good way to record videos of your tracks?
I was reading the post on promoting your tracks (viewtopic.php?f=82&t=81 38) and the #1 tip seems to be to make a video. This makes sense, but what is a good way to get quality video off of your xbox?
Cell phones are obviously a crap option. Is there any standard way of doing this, or is it all just an I/O game with running stuff through your PC?
Re: What is a good way to record videos of your tracks?
I'm still in the dark ages when doing mine.I use my iPod to record my vids then upload to YouTube. this DOES affect quality massively, until I get some more available cash to spend. it's tough with a family though.
Re: What is a good way to record videos of your tracks?
I did about as best I could using external recording: 44-inch HD screen, recorded with a stand-alone high quality camera on a tripod. It's very watchable, but it's still nowhere near the quality using an actual game recorder.

I use Hauppauge PVR: Gaming Edition. Picked it up bout a year ago for 200$. Havent looked back since. Totally worth the investment if you make the most of it.
If youre lookin to get the occasional video or want someone to record your creations for you, you can always ask someone with a PVR. Those 2 guys take requests.

I just picked up the Hauppage three days ago and it's already on the fritz and I'm ready to return it. A lot of people love this, but apparently there are a lot of people who got bum units as well (just look at the negative comments in amazon). I'm willing to give another unit a try since it did work ok for the first 24 hours or so.
Re: What is a good way to record videos of your tracks?
Oh dear what was wrong with it??
Re: What is a good way to record videos of your tracks?
Three problems, actually.
First, the pass through feed started going black randomly for about 4 seconds at a time every so often. I would actually live with that since I would only use that during capture and would swap the wires back at regular play time.
But last night when I tried to capture, the feed started going in slow motion and sometimes just freezing for up to 20 seconds at a time. I tried setting the game resolution down but it didn't help. I tried setting the bit rate down, but it just seemed to confuse the software and things got worse. I thought maybe it was just the display during the capture that was off and that it would still make a good video, but the actual video was completely unusable.
Then the sound just stopped working.
All very bad timing as I wanted to blast my new track off to successville.

I managed to find one for 140 on ebay, so there may be other deals out there. I'm also open to requests but I reserve the right to refuse service to pirate tracks http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image.../icon/razz.gif

Major bummer http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_neutral.gif Let me know if you need a recording in the meantime. I'm pretty sure I made it to your thread to say it, but I really liked spin city.

I really appreciate it. I had the machine running for quite some time before I tried to capture, so I'm going to see if it will behave after it's cooled down completely. I'll still return it either way, but I'm hoping I can get a good capture before I pack it up.

Lemme guess... youre using Arcsoft Showbiz? Not Total Media Extreme?
