Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs
So the egg thread has taken a bit of an unexpected turn.
We are in a situation where we have skipped a part of the natural sequence of riddle events.
Murdoch did skip a step or two. We all did. Given the chance, I don't think any of us would have had it differently.
The Vigenere cipher is extremely difficult to crack without a key (which I'm most certain is why that cipher method was chosen), yet Murdoch managed to succeed there.
So now (in theory) we have two paths to choose from. Press forward, or back track.
The ideal choice is actually to back track so that we can be clear on the full path of the riddle from beginning to end. We have some gaps to fill.
So regarding the Moneyball egg. Is there ANYTHING there that suggests the Konami code? Is there any reference at all that might be a hint or suggestion?
I mean, what would inspire a player to attempt placing that code at the start of that level?
Has anyone noticed a link between the Konami logo and the level design? The platinum phrase?
Also, I think TheRealTeeHill might be right about drawing something. I imagine it would be something symmetrical. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...n/confused.gif Either way, we need to keep our eyes peeled for patterns that could fill a grid like the one found in Moneyball.
I don't think we don't need anymore hints from RedLynx at this time. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image.../icon/geek.gif
Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs
So.. has anyone actually asked FatShady? lol
Edit: By the way, I tried to see if you had to follow the directions of the moving cube a little way off / to the right when you start (up, up, left, up, up, right etc.) but it isn't possible.
Edit 2: Actually I'm pretty sure I know what you have to do be but I'll mess around with it for a while before I say anything.

We tried, but ever since he became a Ubisoft Ambassador, he won't talk to us anymore. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...con/snooty.gif
Haha just kidding, he's an extremely busy guy, and is most likely aware of what's going on here.
He's a professor now, helping inner city kids develop skills to improve themselves and become better at what they do...
...and if I'm right, he's releasing a new and very special University of Trials video tomorrow!! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/dance.gif

hahahaha... man this is all news to me. I was down at PAX Australia all weekend and only got home yesterday at like 4:30am. I didn't see this until just now. Also, while I did interview ANBA there is nothing new in the interview, no clues or secrets or anything, its just a chat about the new games. I honestly know less about this riddle than you guys because I have been way too busy to get involved. I still lurk though http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/smile.gif
This is an awesome find and I want to check it out when I get home.
As I said previously, I did speak to ANBA and I did ask him about the riddle, pretty sure I specifically asked if there were any clues that we have not found yet etc... and I got nothing. So glad we are still finding new stuff. Im as curious as you are about this riddle but with video work and life getting in the way, no where near enough time to look into stuff like back in the day.

The konami code was also part of the Lab Rat squirrel easter egg. You press it when in the pool of water, the correct sequence is hinted there by the sound of laserbeams http://trials-evolution-secrets.wiki...wiki/Lab_Rat**
...my guess is that we can maybe use the code in other places as well.
Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs
Spill the beans Danners http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/smile.gif no secrets round here!!! lol
Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs
OK I kinda feel like an idiot now 'cos I don't think this is it so I'll tell you what I tried and anyone else is welcome to try similar stuff.
It actually seemed quite obvious at first - the skill game seems to me to pretty heavily reference Mario games. The colours of the cubes and the colours of the coins all tie in with Mario games, plus the fact that coins are obviously an integral part of them. So given a checkerboard of 6x10 squares what could be drawn on that?
Well, how about the iconic Mario picture:
http://images.wikia.com/fantendo/ima...0_MarioNES.jpg
It can actually be somewhat neatly converted onto the checkerboard, and the one I felt seemed closest was this:
http://i42.tinypic.com/2sacolt.png
But I've tried quite a few different variations on it and even waited until the 5 minutes was up after drawing some of the images and so far I haven't had any luck. So perhaps I was just barking up the wrong tree. Like I say if anyone else wants to try some other variations be my guest but I think I was actually just plucking at straws there.

thats actually quite interesting. Did you know the squirrel easter egg in Lab Rat is based on Mario? It takes you through a green pipe, down to a picture of a Mario based rider and a squirrel on a bike, check the video at around 40 seconds http://trials-evolution-secrets.wiki...ions_-_Lab_Rat. That final frame is divided into some grids: I can count a 5 by 10 grid at the riders helmet... maybe we need to recreate a part of this picture?
EDIT: the feet of the ridder seam to be the only 10 by 6 grid in the picture... worth giving it a try!!!!
Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs
Hmm, that's kind of simultaneously reassuring and off-putting. On the one hand they've already done a Mario-based easter egg which actually does make reference to that NES Mario image (in this case it being a Mario rider.. a Marider?), but it also seems perhaps more than coincidental that a skill game that is (at least to me) pretty obviously based off of Mario games actually ALSO uses the Konami Code in some way. Or, maybe that's what should have given us the idea to try the code in the first place, and has nothing to do with what you're supposed to do next. In hindsight that seems like the more logical reasoning behind it and if anything its actually surprising no-one had made that connection in the 7 odd months since the DLC came out.
Well, at least I sort of had the right (/wrong) idea.
Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs
Dannersmac's idea of drawing mario didn't work, just thought i'd point that out. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon/sad.gif
